I am not an accountant, nor am I a bookkeeper. I learned accounting basics (journal entries, debit/credit, trial balance, etc.) about 12 years ago. About a month ago I read this book to setup QuickBooks Pro 2011. For me, the book was relatively easy to follow and it presented, in a simple an concise manner, just what I needed to get started with QuickBooks Pro 2011 very quickly. The book worked for me. However, if I did not have some background in basic accounting concepts, I would likely be frustrated by lack of some detail... Debit/Credit concept could be nasty!

I was expecting the typical Dummy book - lots of helpful hints - easy to read/digest - great to have on hand for those "annoying how do I do this again" questions/answers, but no this one is way too wordy with author going on about himself and format was greatly different than what I am use to.

The book so far is easy to read, as much as accounting can be easy. I'll be using it for a Professional Investigator organization with simple needs such as membership fees/dues, etc., so this book covers much more than we will ever need. Great for other small business owners who actually have an inventory.

Great reference book. I have taught myself lots of new things and I have used it to review older items and learned some shortcuts to.
I have several Dummies books and I would recommend for old and new users.

If you are looking for a serious "how to" book on QB, this is going to disappoint you. Very little info on the ins and outs of QB.

It's a for Dummies book, and it was very helpful with learning Quick Books 2011. What else can you really say.
