2. Multi-Instance available only in QuickBooks Accountant 2011, and QuickBooks Accountant Enterprise 11.0 forward. Does not allow the same QuickBooks file to open concurrently, must be two different QuickBooks files. 3. Send General Journal Entry feature is available in QuickBooks Accountant 2013 and forward and the client must use QuickBooks 2013 or newer version to import the journal entry.
4. Download your data from participating banks until May, 2017. Online services vary by participating financial institutions or other parties and may be subject to application approval, additional terms, conditions and fees.
5. 30 consecutive days of support are included with the purchase of QuickBooks Accountant 2014 from date of purchase. Offer valid 90 days from software purchase; U.S. only. Standard support is available 24x7. U.S-based support available Monday-Friday, 6am-6pm, Pacific Time. Hours are subject to occasional downtime.

Got to hand it to Intuit. They have the "upgrade" racket down to a science. They know that by releasing a new version of Quickbooks every year and making each each new version backwardly incompatible with the last they will sell more copies to accountants. I mean come on. Every version of Microsoft Excel works with every other version of that product, and it is far more complicated than an accounting program. As an accountant Intuit wrings another $400 out of me every year because invariably one of my clients buys the latest version, against my advice. Thankfully now I see that the payroll processing company Paychex has released an online accounting software product. You can be sure I will be steering as many clients as possible to that product!

Only updated because a client had done so, and I couild not open up his file w QB 2013.

I upgraded only because one of my clients had so I needed to in order to download their information. I see no increased value in the 2014 version. In fact I see it as as step backwards as the screen views have a cluttered appearance and some settings do not carry over when QB is closed and reopened. I still use the prior version whenever possible.

Sometimes being essentially a monopoly gives you a pass on creating well written software. This works into Intuit's sweet spot - buggy, expensive, and mostly playing catch up - but staying in business because they have most of the market share. Don't try to install this system on a high-res system. In fact, make sure you have a vanilla resolution setup because this software wasn't written by obeying modern resolution guidelines.

Too many windows, windows that don't play nicely, and all the bugs we have come to not only expect from Intuit, but have come to realize this is what the company is... Installation and my initial use of the product makes this one of the best QuickBooks yet - because it hasn't crashed yet or corrupted my file system. But the day is young!

Had to remove the software from my Dell XPS 15 - the new one - the only software that currently is impossible to use on my new $2600 notebook... is... you guessed it... QUICKBOOKS!

Tried to solve the display issues on the Quickbooks support site - and as usual, in fact in every year I have had Quickbooks I would like to award them... WORST software support, worst support tools, and award for saving as much money through automation without the corresponding increase in support technology.

Imagine if QuickBooks had 4-5 serious competitors and if most Accountants were software-neutral... This company would immediately be bankrupt, gone, and finished. My only hope is my new company gets large enough that it becomes someone elses cross to bear!

The cost of the program has skyrocketed. The payroll program is complicated to set up and run. You must update the program each year or it quits working. The program is to complex for small businesses to use. The program tries to be all things to all people and has become overly complex to use. It is like the IRS code.

It's Quickbooks. Works well for our purposes, but they need to do a better job at sizing the windows. Sometimes I find that I can't get a particular window to shrink (but not every window), and yet, it is not small enough to see the entire thing.

Whenever I upgrade software and the display is new, I cringe wondering how long it will take me to learn it all over. Although this new version looks a lot sharper, all the old commands and tricks still work. I have not gotten the dreaded warning pop-up yet.
Instead, I have learned to utilize the added functionality on the fly as it appears. I have not yet used the help function because I was stuck but the “What’s New” part helped me fully employ the software.
Well worth the upgrade.
