Intuit DOES NOT SUPPLY A USER MANUAL for the Cash Register Plus.

If you want to use help lookup, your cash register must have internet access and your cash register must have speakers, because it is an audio video tutorial, NOT A MANUAL that you can read or search.

We do not have the space at our registers to keep speakers.

When exploring in a Cash Register Plus online search, if Intuit doesn't have the information you're looking for, you may call an 800 help number which states there may be a charge to help you. When I called to ask if we could accept a sale without printing a receipt, ( some of our Green customers tell us they don't want a receipt). I was told that she couldn't answer that question and that she would direct my call to a different department. ( by the way, the help tech outsourced had such a strong Indian accent, I had to ask her to repeat herself several times because I could not understand what she was saying) The department she transferred me to was closed at 8 am EST.

Intuit may have a somewhat user-friendly cash register plus, however, they may charge you tech help fees for information other companies provide in their user manuals.

If you are accomplished with the computer and have the time to figure it out on your own how to use the cash register plus, this may be for you.

Also, if you require any type of sales reports, you will need to be hooked up to or have wireless access to a printer.

I believe I would have been better off buying a POS System.

This software is a really really bad joke. First it would not work with an out of box hardware solution that was touted as a turnkey solution. We had to return HP printer for Epson to get reciepts to work. Their support is terrible. No one will answer questions on their help forum. The software is Java based so printer drivers are hard coded so can't use standard HW drivers. If you started out with an earlier version and want to upgrade to version 5 they make you upgrade v2, v3, v4 before you can install v5. After 2 weeks was finally able to get it to work as advertised, albeit very slow. Now, after 1 year, it has slowed down to the point that it takes almost 5 minutes to log in new users during shift changes. Again, no help at all on the forums after leaving a post there for 2 weeks.

I am interesting in buying this product, but I would have to switch computing systems to windows. Why would I want to do that? I'll stick with a simple register and manually enter sales.
