Quicken is horrible. Just plain horrible. I've been fighting with this program for the last several years and have finally had enough. No more tech support calls, no more software reloads, I'm done. I just changed laptops, loaded Quicken Deluxe 2005, went to pull up my checking account file that I faithfully back up onto an external hard drive, and poof! It's gone. Oh, there's a version from February there, but that was about umpteen thousand transactions ago. User error? Maybe. But if it's that easy to lose a file, I need a new program. Goodbye, Quicken. You suck.

Used Quicken for over 10 years. Always hope the next version will correct the bugs; never happens. If you track a lot of investments the database will get corrupt. Support is fee based even for bugs. Interface is cumbersome.

I have used Quicken for 8 years. Have upgraded 3 times.
I read all the bad reviews, wondered if i did the right thing buying this time.
People said there were no opt. out for the online stuff, WRONG, they should read the boxes before they click, YES..
This is Fine, looks clean, works Fine. I installed it clean on another computer to make sure. It converted my old backup just fine.. Yes it uses a different backup file ext. BooHoo
As long as i can back it up, who cares.. I have never had to use the backup anyway.
I say, Install it clean, read the boxes that pop up before you click YES, and you will like this.
Yes it has extra stuff i don't use, but all the others did also.

Contrary to all those who criticized this product - I think it's great. Does what it's supposed to do and does it well. I do not use it for ON-LINE banking or investing and I suggest that if you limit your expectations and confine your use to merely keeping accurate records of your income and expenses and generating great reports for tax purposes you should be very happy.

I have used Quicken for quite a while now and it functionas great, back-ups nicely, back-up retrieval is quick and easy and my budget has never been more balanced.

Quicken allows you to complete your taxes, providing you use Turbo Tax, much faster. I use the long form every time I do my taxes and Quicken/Turbo tax work seamlessly.

If your a little computer saavy, read the dialogue boxes and you install, and PAY ATTENTION to what your doing you will NO (ZERO) issues with Quicken. Don't believe the negative reviews, this is a great program that some banks are even using these days.
