In Business Quickly,
This review is from: Quicken Legal Business Pro 2009 [Old Version] (CD-ROM)
As a new small business owner, this program had all the software and forms I needed to quickly get my business off the ground with a minimum of start-up mistakes. My business plan was solid but several issues I overlooked in my structure were covered and corrected for in the "Plan for Success" chapter. Additionally, tax issues and lease negotiation items suggested were very helpful as was the wealth of "How to ..." checklists and forms. I recommend this program to everyone prior to staring up their new (or expanding) business; the savings in unnecessary lawyer fees was substantial and had an immediate impact on our bottom line from the beginning.

Not What I Expected,
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Quicken Legal Business Pro 2009 [Old Version] (CD-ROM)
I bought this product primarily to work on contracts for my employees. With the advertising around you would expect that, however contracts are limited to independent contractors only. So for my employees it is useless, it only includes amendments to their contracts. Everything I NEED is provided by a link to NOLO to buy another product. The few useful forms for a small business owner are well done, but overall needs more useful contracts and forms rather than links to spend more money. I will definitely return this.

Before buying, make sure this has forms you need. As a CPA, I have to prepare contracts quickly for many purposes. This CD has many though certainly not all templates I need. It has over 140 contracts and forms with updates through 2009. The 2011 version has been out for some time, and now I use the 2010 version.
What I like: You select your form and go through the interview. What I don't like: You then save it in your "portfolio." That's how they get you, by forcing these docs to be stored in the program's portfolio. You can modify any of these docs later to further suit your particular requirements. While 140 contracts and forms is a lot, it does not meet all my needs. For example, a non-disclosure agreement is not included. For the money however, I think it's a good deal, especially when you get used to using the program rather than searching for many of the same forms online. The idea of course, is to save on legal expenses where possible and use time more efficiently. One thing you should do before using this software is go though the tutorial to learn how to save forms you create. Otherwise it might seem confusing the first time you try to create a document. I got used to using Legal Business Pro 2009 and the version I now use is the same thing. It wasn't that many years ago that is was normal to call an attorney more often over contracts. Now I don't do so nearly as much, except for those matters that can only be done by an attorney.
