More About the Author

At 23 I left the corporate world to work for myself, basically getting paid to be me and do what I love. It also gave me the opportunity to explore who I am and who I want to be. At 32 I reinvented myself, a mid-course correction that was seriously scary, but a necessary life changer. I never looked back...

My name is Laurel House and I'm a Relationship and Lifestyle author, expert, personal trainer and the "QuickieChick." No, not the late night booty call kind of quickie, my "quickies" are all about making the most out of every moment- whether it's a saddlebag-burning "Quickie Workout in Bed," a metabolism-boosting "Bites with Benefits" meal, or how to get a $150 spa-quality skin peel out of a $1 tomato and lemon at-home Refrigerator Facial. My YouTube videos have received over 7 million views and now you can get even more Quickie Tips in my new book "QuickieChick's Cheat Sheet to Life, Love, Food, Fitness, Fashion and Finance on a Less than Fabulous Budget" (St. Martin's, May 2012).

I love this book! I originally bought this book for my daughter who is in College but after reading it, I decided to buy my own (and for my sister....we are both in our 50's). I love all the helpful everyday ideas from quick exercise tips when I don't have time for a full workout...who can tell I'm exercising while I am cooking dinner, or sitting on a chair in the office (lol), her helpful ideas from how to eat healthy, how to be the perfect hostess and how to stay on a budget while we can still spoil ourselves. I also like the fact that it's a book that I don't have to read from the beginning but can go from chapter to chapter until I find what I'm looking for. She has really put so much advice into this book that I truly believe it is a great for anyone who is ready to go out on their own or to those of us who have families and careers who just need helpful hints and positive motivation to keep our days less hectic.

I recently graduated from college and I received this book as a gift a few months prior to graduation. I did not know, how little I knew before reading this!

This book brings up so many points that we just never have the time to think about during college, about post college life. It made a lot of the dynamics about being a new "grownup" that could have been a HUGE surprise (and that I've seen BE a huge surprise for many of my friends recently) MUCH easier to handle.

This book felt like my little best friend while making the transition into post-college life! Definitely turned to it amidst a melt down or two!

I have not only read and loved QuickieChick's Cheat Sheet, but have gifted the book to girlfriends who have raved about it as well!

Loaded with easy and affordable "quickies" and tips on everything from exercising to eating healthy to fashion and beauty to finances and relationships, I'm so grateful that Laurel House is bringing us all "in the know".

Hope to see more from her down the line, especially a piece targeting women in their 30's (my demo).
