It's truly unfortunate that Amazon.com isn't keeping this album in stock. This is the best work so far by one of the best musicians you've never heard of. Part big-band jazz, part soulful ballads, part rock & roll, yet always totally weird and unique, Big Rude Jake is one of a kind.
At this moment, at least a few BRJ albums are listed as "in stock" on Amazon.ca. They're ALL good, with not a weak track in the entire catalog (definitely NOT something I'd say of very many bands). But Quicksand is by far the best, as well as the most accessible. Give it a try, you WILL be glad you did.
