Product Description

The challenge of Quiddler is to arrange your entire hand into everyday words. In this fast-paced game, draw and discard in turn. Try to use those high point letters, but don't get caught with them uncombined. A bonus is given for the most words in each round (so little words can help you win), as well as for the longest word. Quiddler is a delightful challenge for both rookies and word game lovers. For up to 8 players.

Our grand-kids introduced us to Quiddler. We purchased our own set, and still play it when they come to visit. However, my wife and I (both in our 70s) play almost every night before we go to bed. My wife, who would do great on Wheel of Fortune, has a tendency to beat me unless the cards come up in my favor. She does an excellent job of seeing words in her dealt cards, and often comes up with longer words than I do. However, I'm a writer and avid reader, and sometimes find words she's never heard of before. We use a Scrabble dictionary for verification. The game also helps kids with vocabulary and spelling.

I have seen several scientific studies which say that playing word games like this stimulates the brain, and help oldsters ward off dementia. One of the reviewers complained about the length of the game, and the time necessary to score it. I add up the points in my head. Another exercise beneficial to warding off dementia. It rarely takes me more than ten seconds. Adding and subtracting in your head is also great for kids as anyone who has watched teenagers in fast food franchises try to make change without the cash register. We usually play three games a night (3 thru 10 cards). I like it because it's quicker than Scrabble. Total time for three games -- 20-35 minutes.

My only complaint. The the cards are made of paper, and get bent corners and sticky fairly soon. We're on our fourth set.

I heartily recommend this game.

Quiddler is a great game...if you like doing the Jumble in the newspaper you will love it. Even if you don't do the Jumble you will still love it. It's become one of the family favorites. We bought this for the third time. That seems to be the only problem, the cards are not as durable as some other games from the same company.

Quiddler is a must for anyone who loves word or spelling games. I've introduced this card game to many friends who love it as much or more as I. It's a wonderful, inexpensive and portable gift. I take it with me when I travel. I play it with my older grandchildren who are learning as they have fun. Quiddler can be played with multiple players, although my preference is to play it with one other person because it takes less time.

My husband and I frequently play this game in the evening, along with a glass of wine, before dinner.
We bought this one to give as a gift to friends. I am sure they will enjoy it too.

We use it a lot with friends and found it to be a good "ice breaker" for parties and fun with our grandchildren
