The size of this book isn't a bad thing -- both of my daughters have loved this and "Busy Spider's Favorite Words" in large part due to it's perfect small, chunky size -- the easiest book for them to grip. My older daughter now "reads" it to her younger sister! In fact, it was used so much that the binding eventually cracked and it was a "tragedy" -- we had to replace it right away! The simple words on a solid color background opposite Eric Carle's illustrations are bold and and interesting to the little ones (and great for teaching about colors, too). It's a favorite gift of mine to give to new babies!

I love word books for my toddler (16 mos.), and I love Eric Carle, so I love this book. Pages are an easy thickness for toddler to turn them independently. Only one word per page, so simple to understand. Lovely book.

I bought this book for my neice as a christmas gift, It was the size of a small block. I had to go out and buy another gift as I was embarrassed to give her this book because of the size. There was not product description to tell you it was so small.
