Editorial Reviews

Anchor & Braille was formed as a side project for Stephen Christian, who found success as frontman of internationally-acclaimed act Anberlin.
Anberlin has sold over 900,000 records to date and continues to make waves in the alternative music world with tours on multiple
continents. Anchor & Braille s first effort Felt, produced by Copeland s Aaron Marsh, was released in 2009 on Wood/Water Records. The
Quiet Life finds Anchor & Braille exploring a more diverse sonic terrain as Christian teamed up with the producers Micah Tawlks and Kevin
Daley (Civil Twilight) and mixer Chad Howat (Paper Route). The Quiet Life will be available on Tooth & Nail Records.

5.0 out of 5 stars Stephen Christian is a genius! August 1, 2012

Anchor and Braille or Anberlin, it doesn't matter, this guy and his musical brain can do no wrong. I've loved Anberlin since I heard "Paperthin Hymn" on the radio back in '05. I appreciate everything this guy puts out. I definitely recommend his music to Everyone!

5.0 out of 5 stars ERMAHGERD July 31, 2012
Format:Audio CD|Amazon Verified Purchase
I didn't think they would be able to make an album better than their incredible 'Felt.' Well, they did. This album exceeded all my expectations. It's more upbeat than 'Felt' and closer to Anberlin's sound, but they also have a few really good slow songs, especially the amazing 'Hymn For Her.'

If you like Anberlin, Stephen's voice, or 'Felt', this is a no-brainer.

5.0 out of 5 stars AMAZING! November 5, 2012
Format:Audio CD|Amazon Verified Purchase
This album BLEW ME AWAY! I don't say that lightly. I loved "Felt", but did not consider it a masterpiece. I would dare put this album into my top 20 favorite albums ever, and in my top 10 for owning on Vinyl. Stephen Christian vocals are perfection, the lyrics are compelling and the music is inspired! It gets better every time I listen to it! I'm in Love! Seriously.

5.0 out of 5 stars Absolutely gorgeous! September 17, 2012
Format:Audio CD|Amazon Verified Purchase
Stephen Christian has one of the most amazing voices I have ever heard! I am not sure if I like this album as much as the first yet. I feel track 4 & 6 don't really fit very well with the rest of the album but the rest of it is so amazing it doesn't really matter! So besides that, I am definitely in love!

4.0 out of 5 stars Exceeds Expectations September 12, 2012
Format:MP3 Music|Amazon Verified Purchase
This is a (further) step in a new(er) direction for singer/songwriter Stephen Christian. The Quiet Life boasts plenty of new sounds to differentiate it from 2009's Felt, like total curve ball, yet gem, "Kodachrome". Like its predecessor, however, you can definitely say that this is not Anberlin. Anchor & Braille is unique, and fans are lucky that Christian has another creative outlet that he chooses to share with the world. I'm already looking forward to the next release. But I've yet to tire of this low-key, straightforward effort, and don't see that happening for a while.

5.0 out of 5 stars Love it!!! September 7, 2012
Format:MP3 Music|Amazon Verified Purchase
This album is wonderful. As a previously unexposed Anberlin fan, I decided to take a listen to this album shortly after its release. After listening to "And it Goes without Saying" I bought the album. I am now an Anchor and Braille fan. This does not disappoint, even after (trust me) multiple listens.

1.0 out of 5 stars This is Horrid......... March 20, 2013
Format:Audio CD|Amazon Verified Purchase
This is not even light rock/contemporary....I can see why Anberlin has gone to crap if more members of the band like this style of writing music. I could never recommend this to anyone. As a fan of early Anberlin I thought maybe this might a step in the direction to what Anberlin use to be.

However this is nothing I had hoped for. Hate me all you want for not liking this. If you are a fan of older Anberlin you will not find anything here. I could not even listen to one song all the way through.....blah. As for me this CD will just be tossed aside never to be given another listen.
