As a fan of Oscar Peterson's since the original trio days,(30 years have passed since we saw and heard him in New Zealand) but I just keep finding something new to add to my collection! This CD from the Verve label showcases some beautiful ballads and sets the perfect mood for late-night listening. A standout is the late Anthony Newley's song "Who Can I Turn To",(a personal favourite)in which Oscar display's his brilliant stride playing and stunning technique. The recording, the piano, the pianist and the music are wonderful. Recommended

This CD of Oscar Peterson's is soft and smooth and mellow. I often play it while going to sleep. And then I regret falling asleep before I hear the last few tracks. Oscar is a magician!

It can happen! Dumb looking jacket - - not informative nor classy. Play it and Oscar Peterson fans hold your hats and settle down and enjoy - - this is Oscar Peterson at his best - - Oh so mellow.

PROBABLY MY FAVORITE COLLECTION OF COOL, RELAXING SONGS BY A GREAT ARTIST

...it just takes some people longer to get away from the current stuff forced on us by the "music" industry. I noticed I liked Oscar Peterson maybe 10 years ago. I'm not some be-bop fan or intellectual jazz expert. I just liked how melodic and perfect, simple yet complicated his playing was. I especially like this album and "Pastel Moods". It's a quieter Oscar Peterson than I am used to, but his playing is riveting, full of like yet easy to listen to.

A master of the piano, Peterson owns the instrument. Good quality recording, nice selection of pieces.

The music on this CD is the perfect tonic after a long day. Every song on this CD is perfect, flawless. It makes for great background music for a dinner party or simply music to unwind by, my preference. I would highly recommend Mr. Peterson virtuoso playing to everyone. Elaine

I liked it---Very thrilling to listen to. Oscar's fellings are well represented in his music. All jazz fans need this album. You'll want to keep buying more.I love chokey chicken!!!:-)
