5.0 out of 5 stars I loved Reading this Book!, January 2, 2002
I didn't find the Quiet Professor by British romance book author Betty Neels to be stale at all and I really liked it, Sure some of her books have different characters in the same situations like an English nurse falling for a Dutch doctor but her books are so well written that each books situations always seem like it's totally new and I really liked the characters, the English nurse Megan Rodner and the Dutch doctor Jake Van Belfeld and in this book instead of being written as a girl plain in looks Megan is described as being very pretty so to me that is different than a lot of Betty's books where the plain or homely girl falls for the handsome doctor and wins his heart even though I still love her plain girl handsome guy love stories and I love reading about what is the same and what is different about the medical field in America and Europe! I highly recommend this sweet endearing book!

5.0 out of 5 stars Engaged to the Wrong Man / the Wrong Sister, June 4, 2007
By
Book Description: What were his intentions? Megan thought she had it all -- a good job, a caring family and a fiancé who would make a wonderful husband. But then her perfect world fell apart and she found that her one hope was Professor Jake van Belfeld. He seemed determined to rebuild her life -- but why was he taking such a personal interest in her? Did he think that her heart needed his attention, too?

Her fiancé was in love - but engaged to the wrong sister! Megan Rodner wanted to fall madly in love - that hadn't happened, so she settled for the comfortable, sure relationship. She was content with her engagement and future life. Her fiancé was solid, a doctor, fairly reliable ... that was enough - or was it? When her fiancé suddenly fell madly in love with her sister, Megan's heart didn't break, though her pride was badly bruised. Why didn't Professor Jake van Belfeld show her a little more sympathy! He was an irritating, unsympathetic, work-oriented, self-absorbed man - so why did he appoint himself her knight? Why, when fate finally smiled upon her and allowed her to fall madly in love, did the love of her life have to be Jake?

5.0 out of 5 stars The Doctor is in love but has to wait, October 13, 2010
Another great Betty Neels love story! The Professor has been in love with Nurse Megan Rodner for months, but she is engaged. He watches the relationship closely and is ready when her fiancee is less than attentive and helps her pick up the pieces when the engagement crumbles. She of course is grateful for his shoulder to cry on and his "brotherly" advice. He's a very patient man. He bides his time hoping and waiting for her to fall in love with him. It's a lovely story - Megan is a great character and has great courage. After all, when she declares her love for our hero, she has no idea that he's been waiting for her for months...
