5.0 out of 5 stars An album that is like a greatest hits collection !, December 28, 1999
This review is from: Quiet Revolution (Audio CD)
Wow, an amazing album with great songs, yet it is so expensive I guess because it wasn't released in the US!

contains a beautiful collection of romantic songs, Chris' amazing voice adds a beatiful tone to the songs, really great title and a must to buy .

hmmmm, not released as mp3s ;))

4.0 out of 5 stars If Spanish Train is a five..., February 14, 2000
By A Customer
This review is from: Quiet Revolution (Audio CD)
I waited for this cd with great anticipation as I am agreat fan of Chris de Burgh, have been since Spanish Train. Chris is at his best singing stories (like St Peters Gate on this cd) and of course his melodic ballads and love songs.

Is this cd worth having? Absolutely! He experiments more (Natasha Dance is like a Russian folk song, When I think Of You runs verse into chorus in an interesting way)and his melodies are still excellent. And his voice? Still pure and still capable of changing from haunting to edgy in the same line.

5.0 out of 5 stars You'll Want it!, December 1, 2000

"shade4blu" (Manchester, NH) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Quiet Revolution (Audio CD)
This is Chris de Burgh doing what he always does! He takes words and music, puts them together in a way in which one feels as though they have experienced the "Love of a Heart Devine." One understands and relates with "My Lover Is". Chris is a true romantic and yet, he has a wonderful sense of Humor with "I Want It (and I want it now)." 'Flying Colours', 'Into the Light', 'The Getaway', and 'Crusader' are similar rock/ballad albums in which Chris has returned to with 'Quiet Revolution.' Give Chris de Burgh the recognition he deserves by setting "Lady in Red" aside and listen to the rest of his music. You won't be disappointed!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Quiet Revolution--aptly named, March 20, 2001
By
This review is from: Quiet Revolution (Audio CD)
Quiet Revolution is Chris de Burgh's best album since Spanish Train and Crusader. He's dropped the trendy sounds he tried to incorporate into his music during the late 80's and early 90's. He's back to the old (and successful) Chris de Burgh that shone during Spanish Train and Crusader, which in my opinion were his best albums--til now! The ballad is back in Quiet Revolution with more great "stories." The music is absolutely addictive. The small investment for this album will reward you with payoffs for years to come. It is a must for any Chris de Burgh fan.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Great Album, August 9, 2005
This review is from: Quiet Revolution (Audio CD)
I just simply can't say enough good about this album. My CD player didn't play any other CD for months. That's how addictive this album can be.

After listening to this album, I was inspired to fly over 2,000 miles just to see the man in concert. I was not disappointed. Neither will you be. Buy this album...trust me.

4.0 out of 5 stars De Burgh Improves With Age, February 26, 2004
By
This review is from: Quiet Revolution (Audio CD)
I have heard a couple of Chris's greatest hits CDs, and there are just a few songs I liked. But on this 16 track CD, there are only 2-3 duds. I'm the kind of music guy who is lucky to find 2 songs on an average CD that I like. But "Quiet Revolution" is loaded with quality pop music and romantic ballads. Before I heard this CD by chance, I, like most people in the USA, just knew Chris De Burgh as that "Lady In Red" guy. Not anymore baby!

"Quiet Revolution", along with De Burgh's 2002 CD "Timing Is Everything", shows that he writing and recording better than he ever has in his career. It is a shame that most of the hip-hop brain-dead music mainstream in the USA don't know good Chris De Burgh has been in the recent past. More people in Europe and the UK do know.

"Quiet Revolution" is not a perfect CD, but it is loaded with quality songs. "When I Think Of You", "Love Of The Heart Divine" and "Saint Peter's Gate" are standouts. Buy It!

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome Cd from Chris, December 8, 2000

This guy is going back to his roots with this Cd. It is similar to his earlier works. I have been dissapointed with his recent recordings but this one is a fresh reminder of his past works. Buy this if you are a fan of his earlier works that have songs of deep meaning and beauty. Go for it, its one of his best cd's.

4.0 out of 5 stars A return to greatness, July 11, 2000
This review is from: Quiet Revolution (Audio CD)
I have all of his albums and this marks a return to some of his best work. The love songs are amazing and the pop songs are great to listen to while driving. There is probably not a bad track here however it is lacking that special something that would make this album worth five stars. I can not wait for the next one.
