Book Description

Psychological thriller (94 000 words)
Quiet River is a small town and people are friendly. But evil lives in quiet water.
Lisa and Matt Collins spend a weekend in the town of Quiet River, Washington, where their son Evan meets a woman who says he looks like her son. She gives him cookies. The hotel clerk, an older woman, also gives him cookies, explaining to his mother that they came from the hotel's kitchen. Lisa ignores the clerk's strange behavior and forgets about her. The family goes back home to Seattle where Matt returns to his job as a magazine editor and Lisa finds out she is pregnant for the second time. Soon Matt's personal assistant dies in a car accident and he hires a new one: Kristine. One day Kristine presents Matt and Lisa with tickets to a ballet performance and that night their quiet lives change forever when they get involved in a violent store robbery and Lisa loses her unborn child.
Lisa and Matt think it is their worst nightmare, but how little did they know. They have to return to Quiet River to learn what the darkest dark is and what face it can wear.
Be aware the book has violent scenes and strong language.

5.0 out of 5 stars Book review July 31, 2011
By The one
Format:Kindle Edition
My boyfriend gave me Kindle with some books already uploaded and this one was the first I read, because the writer is Russian. I like thrillers, especially psychological kind and this was great. I really like it. I'm not good with reviews and I don't want to spoil anything, so I'll keep it sweet and short. I really enjoyed the book and I will look for more from this author.

5.0 out of 5 stars Quiet River October 23, 2011
Format:Kindle Edition
Quiet River is a small town where life is slowed and everyone knows everyone else. A quiet little place that is slow in accepting outsiders but not adverse to getting to know the new residents and make them feel welcome. But beneath all of this is an evil that is reaching out to draw a particular family into its embrace so that two women can get what they want but up to now did not think that they had the opportunity for the happiness that they are searching.

The book has enough twists and turns to keep any mystery reader guessing throughout the book. It starts out as if it is going to be a story about a happily married couple and their children in an urban area. What could enter this world to upset what appears to be a perfect life. That is when people from Quiet River enter the story. The idea of going to a quiet town and to get away from the hustle and bustle of the big city draws the family into the web that has been woven to trap them and if necessary destroy them as a family and possibly as individuals. It seems that danger lurks in the bucolic environment that the family has chosen to regenerate themselves after a tragedy in the big city.

The book is very interesting and an excellent read. If you are into mysteries and enjoy trying to figure out what is going to happen next then this will be an enjoyable read for you. Very good book.

5.0 out of 5 stars Everything is not always as it seems. November 2, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
I think my title pretty much sums it up. I didn't expect much from this book simply because it was one of the first I got for my Kindle, and at that time I was just loading it up with anything I could find. I had it several months before I finally read it. And man, what I was missing! I thoroughly enjoyed it, and have already bought the next one. The twists and turns were great. And I will definitely look for more by this author!
