4.0 out of 5 stars Another great Peabo album!, January 12, 2008
By
This review is from: Quiet Storm (Audio CD)
This 1986 Peabo album is a great addition to my music library. It has no songs from Peabo's definitive Anthology album (which I also own), so they were all songs I had not heard before. I'm most impressed with the songs "Somebody In Your Life", "Good Combination", and "After You". The album is not as good as, say his previous album "Take No Prisoners", but the smooth sounds of Peabo's voice, the keyboards, and the guitars are still evident and it's a joy to listen to.

5.0 out of 5 stars A "lost" gem which is thankfully available again., March 1, 2008

This album was originally released in 1986 and was one of Peabo's most underrated albums ever. The gorgeous ballads "Since I've Been In Love", "Catch 22" and "Good Combination", however, are all classic Peabo performances which rank right up there with his most popular works. Perhaps because it only got airplay on late-night Quiet Storm radio shows this album failed to get much-deserved exposure but it's now available again so if you're into real and heartfelt Soul music it's a treat you'll definitely enjoy.

5.0 out of 5 stars Among his best but also among his most underrated., June 6, 2004

When originally released in 1986, this very fine CD fell into the trap of being considered too R&B for pop radio and too MOR-pop for Urban Contemporary R&B radio. The end result was that this album's success was nowhere near what it should have been as Peabo gives us some of his most romantic and soulful vocal performances on "Good Combination", "Catch 22" and "Since I've Been In Love". This album is just as good as Peabo's 1991 bestseller "Can You Stop The Rain" and makes for a worthwhile addition for your collection if you can find it.

5.0 out of 5 stars His Best and hard to find!!, July 12, 2007
This review is from: Quiet Storm (Audio CD)
This is a very good CD, all songs. Peabo is in very good voice and this is a must have. Favorite songs-After You, Catch 22, Good Combination, Somebody in your Life. He is in a class all his own which is the case with Jeffrey Osborne and the late Luther Vandross...classic male singers. This was still Peabo in his hey-day!
