4.0 out of 5 stars Sometimes different is good, June 20, 1999
By
This review is from: Quiet Table (Audio CD)
I only bought this album because I am a huge Pearl Jam fan and must own everything they sell. Since there's nothing of their's left to get, I bought a band related to them. Let's just say it was a very pleasant song. It's a completely different sound from what I am used to, but I still loved it. Very relaxing. I recommend it to anyone looking for something different.

5.0 out of 5 stars the result is stunning, June 23, 1999
This review is from: Quiet Table (Audio CD)
The quiet table is such a great album that ever since i got it, it hasn't left my CD. Songs such as Resonate, tremor void and Shiva the astronaut has a truly great feel to them. But, they're not alone. Many people has told me that three fish sounds like a mellow Pearl Jam, and I must say that I totally disagree. There's just one song that reminds me of Pearl Jam and that is "My only foe", a great song indeed, and written by Ament. Besides that one song they sound more like a western influenced trio with an american touch, and I must say , the result is stunning.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Journey, March 7, 2001

This album is a great spiritual journey through the heart of the Middle East. Just look at the cover, that sums up the feelings you get from listening to this CD. Songs like Myth of Abdou, Timeless, Resonate, and Shiva and the Astronaut stir up emotions that are not produced by listening to other music. A must buy if you've ever wanted to take a trip through India, the Giza pyramids, Tibet, etc.

4.0 out of 5 stars better than the first, a more mature album, June 3, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Quiet Table (Audio CD)
Three Fish sound more like a band than a side project, and the album is a more mature and consistant effort than the first. The middle eastern influence is even more evident on this one, and the songs are reminiscent of cuts such as "Zagreb" and "Strangers in my bed" from the first one. Robbi Rob's voice is wonderful, better than the first and better than the tribe after tribe album, and you can tell that the three of them really enjoy playing together. If you liked the first Three Fish album, you will love this one. If you haven't heard them, this is a wonderful place to start.

Well its a great album. It`s like Pearl Jam after a Tibet tirp with some opium in it. Or simply beautyful and amazing

5.0 out of 5 stars Can't stop listening, October 6, 2000

This is one of the best albums I have ever heard and bought. It is a great album for relaxing and truly letting your mind go. My favorite song on the album is track 2 - Tremor Void. Everything in the album just pulls you in and keeps you listening forever. A lot of people seem to want to compare it to Pearl Jam just because Jeff Ament is in it, but I find not to be like them and you have to listen to it in a frame of mind not thinking of the Pearl Jam connection.

4.0 out of 5 stars Eastern infleunce grunge trio fuse styles well., June 22, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Quiet Table (Audio CD)
Dynamic second effort from from Three Fish demonstrates unity of accomplished musicians in a tight-knit trio. Each musician seem s to bring an entirely new version of his instrument to each track. The middle-eastern themes of the album listen like a camel-jog through a magical desert, with your favorite grunge band. The sound-scapes offer emotions of passing through oasis-cities and mystical sand-dunes, beneath quiet desert moons and though the harsh afternoon sun with a delicate tangle of soul-full ballads and haunting chants. Good background music with enough depth to delve.

5.0 out of 5 stars Realy good drumming, July 15, 1999

The album is great, but the drumming is amazing. The amount, texture and depth of the sound is not like many things around. Not like that bad Perl Jam Drumming

4.0 out of 5 stars Some Perfect Music, January 31, 2001

Three Fish is awesome. Like, the band has a lot of good albums, but this is awesome. It's got a couple of good songs, but the ones that I like best are #2, #8, and #11. Tracks #9 and #12 are so great that they make you want to get up and do something. Like, when I listen to these songs, I'm amazed how different they sound in the same sort of way. Have you ever felt like donning a trench coat, going down to the local high school at lunch time, and busting loose? Sure, so have I. But instead, stayed at home a tortured the family pet? Then what you may appreciate is some perfect music for low self-esteem and anti-social tendencies. Awesome. HERE IT IS.

Masterpiece is an understatement. If only words could describe the honesty, craftsmanship, lyrical depth and soul searching power of "The Quiet Table". If I read one more line about "My dessert island" album, I'm going to scream. It's "desert island"! And even "desert island" is a dumb phrase (a desert surrounded by water!) How about "deserted island"? Boys and girls, I'm certainly no Hemingway, but let's get with the program.

Remember that song about the guy and girl standing on the bow of the ship with their arms stretched out, then the ship sinks and everyone drowns? What the heck kind of nonsense is that? Thank goodness, Three Fish isn't at all like that! "The Quiet Table" is one of the Top-10 recordings of the decade. I checked "Keep my name analogous" because I didn't want my friends to know that I was listening to illicit lyrics. Can you still vote? If you vote, I have just 3 words: "Thanks so much. Really."
