Can Wyatt keep quiet?,
By lori (Westchester County, New York) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Quiet, Wyatt! (Hardcover)
The reason that this book first caught my attention was the title. My son's middle name is Wyatt so, I had to read this book and hopefully enjoy it. I wanted my son to read a book about someone with his namesake. The only other Wyatt that I have ever heard of is Wyatt Earp. I was pleasantly surprised. The Wyatt in this book was really cool, just like Wyatt Earp. He is a typically little boy, inquisitive, who is constantly being told to be quiet (sounds familiar). No one has the patience for little Wyatt. He is frustrated and finally decides to literally take everyones advice, and becomes quiet. Wyatt keeps up his silence until a situation arises that could be harmful to a little puppy unless Wyatt decides to speak. Well Wyatt finally breaks his silence. Will Wyatt be deemed a hero or be told to be quiet once again....read it to see. I think that many children will be able to relate to Wyatt. Many children are told to be quiet by parents, siblings and peers. This book will show children that people really don't mean for them to "be quiet" and that speaking up is really a good thing.

Another great children's story by BILL MAYNARD. "Quiet Wyatt" Quiet, Wyatt! was a gift to my younger son. My older son said the story fit his brother. Both boys enjoy the story and have heard it told many times. I would highly recommend it.

The book i read was about a little boy named Wyatt. The problem with this little boy was that no body will listen to him because he was small. He will say something and his family will say quiet Wyatt just because he was a little boy.One time Wyatt got tired of people telling him to be quiet and he stop talking for a long time.Later this to people were looking for a little dog and he knew where the little dog was but he was quiet. The little dog was under the mail truck. When Wyatt saw that the mail men was living he said wait! the little dog is under your truck and the mail men stoped. They said thanks for telling us where was the little dog. Then later everyone start listen it to Wyatt.

Quiet Wyatt!!,
A Kid's Review
This review is from: Quiet, Wyatt! (Hardcover)
When i first saw the book's cover i thought it was an interesting book. The book's cover is the thing that attracted me at first and made me interested in reading the book. In the begining of the book every one wanted Wyatt to be quiet and not talk. when Wyatt used to ask his dad if he could fry an egg with him his dad would say "NO!! your not old enough."When Wyatt wanted to play with the older kids they would say"NO!!! your not old enough to throw a ball." Then one night Wyatt put on his dad's coat, his dad's shoes, and his dad's hat and went out side and screamed as loud as he could and said"MY NAME IS WYATT AND I'M RESPONSIBLE!!" every one in his neighborhood screamed at him and told him to be quiet. After that he decided to stay quiet no matter what happens. The whole neighborhood became a chaos since Wyatt was always quiet. When his dad would be frying eggs Wyatt would see the egg roll and break and wouldn't tell his father, the kids would be playing with the ball, one of them would kick the ball very far away they didn't know where it went,Wyatt would know where it went ,but wouldn't say any thing. One day wyatt was walking down the street he see's a white dog, the white dog was being chased by a dog catcher and the dog was about to die in the middle of the street so Wyatt had to say some thing to save the dog, so he screamed out loud and saved the dog. Since then every one started paying more attention to Wyatt and treating him like a grown up,and his parents thought he was responsible so they bought him the white dog.I really enjoyed the book it was very fun reading it. The writer had a wide imagination. Also I liked the book the most of the other nine books that i read because it was a kids fiction and could be read by grown ups.

In this book for children, a young boy named Wyatt seems to be just not old enough and he trys andtrys but with no success to be noticed. People are always telling this boy to be quiet. Well you know how hard it is to be quiet. This young boy just stops talking all together and things are lost, ruined, and thing are just simply a mess. Well when a truck is about to drive over a little puppy Wyatt just can't stay quiet anymore. And from then on people are glad to hear him talk but he still hears quiet Wyatt once and a while. This book was written by: Bill Maynard and illustrated by Frank Remkiewicz. |
