Book Description

March 7, 2008
What could happen next? Readers will find themselves caught up in the twists and turns of Quiet's life. They will learn that her life is anything but quiet. A young girl from Louisiana flees to New York to escape her dysfunctional family and more. She discovers you can never break the ties which bind one to their family. Hurt, but full of hope, Quiet returns to her childhood home seeking her destined path. The storm within continues to brew, while along the way she learns of betrayal, anger, true friendship, angels and their powers from above, real family, love, self-discovery, and what she really wants from life and herself. The trials and tribulations this young woman endures will leave readers questioning their own path and personal storms.

Editorial Reviews

Review

"…Vivid portrayal of the many challenges we face in our daily life. What more as our personal challenges mount on a daily basis, we have little or no answers to these life issues. I found myself unable to put Quieting the Storm down. Seemingly, its pivotal character, brilliantly set as a metaphor of life, is aptly named Quiet…" --Ronald G. Bookman, President, Ron Bookman & Associates, Inc

"…Communicates well information and ideas with others while it presents its thoughts and actions clearly and concisely with relevant details…establishes trust, credibility, and confidence…looking forward to a feature or mini series." --Charnele Brown, Actress, A Different World

"…From emotions of laughter to tears, Shelley Parsons' debut novel unequivocally touches each one of them. You are sure to find yourself in the world of characters Quiet and Rose…" --Tara Carthen --This text refers to an out of print or unavailable edition of this title.

5.0 out of 5 stars A great read, November 2, 2007
A Kid's Review
Shelley parson has shown great imagination and skill with quieting the storm as the book tends to be inspirationally realistic, encouraging, and a reading motivator. The storyline paints vivid imageries in the mind of readers with its relateable issues to life, love, and deceit and I'm looking forward to up-and-coming books of hers. And an interesting thing to know is what happened to the fall out between tommy and his ex andrea?...Although it is common for a man to leave his woman for another, the reasons aren't always as common.

This book is so well written that i actually felt i knew these characters in real life. The many life experiences of Quiet throughout her story had my emotions floating back and forth from tears of joy to sharing her tears of pain. If you are looking for a good book to curl up on your sofa for moments of pure reading pleasure this is the book for you.

5.0 out of 5 stars Review, September 17, 2007
An immensely absorbing read. Characters that promise to tantalize, mesmerize and titillate on a poignant journey "we all call life". Shelley parson has truly found her niche in the literary world. A must read, I could not put it down.
