A great read,
A Kid's Review
This review is from: Quieting the Storm (Perfect Paperback)
Shelley parson has shown great imagination and skill with quieting the storm as the book tends to be inspirationally realistic, encouraging, and a reading motivator. The storyline paints vivid imageries in the mind of readers with its relateable issues to life, love, and deceit and I'm looking forward to up-and-coming books of hers. And an interesting thing to know is what happened to the fall out between tommy and his ex andrea?...Although it is common for a man to leave his woman for another, the reasons aren't always as common.

QUIETING THE STORM,
By LONNIE BANKS (CALIFORNIA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Quieting the Storm (Perfect Paperback)
This book is so well written that i actually felt i knew these characters in real life. The many life experiences of Quiet throughout her story had my emotions floating back and forth from tears of joy to sharing her tears of pain. If you are looking for a good book to curl up on your sofa for moments of pure reading pleasure this is the book for you.

An immensely absorbing read. Characters that promise to tantalize, mesmerize and titillate on a poignant journey "we all call life". Shelley parson has truly found her niche in the literary world. A must read, I could not put it down.

Roller Coaster Ride With Quiet,

I read this book a few months ago and found it to be about a 8. Some of the things were kind of out there! However, it is a page turner. We take a journey with Quiet that is not quiet at all. There is a character in the book called Rose who I just loved she has a small but powerful role, I would like to have known more about this character. My book club had the pleasure of meeting Shelley this past Saturday and much to my delight she has a book coming out called Rosebud which is based on the character Rose. Shelley is a very personable and gifted young writer and I think she is going places. Janice

Enjoyable but not Believable,
By Aim S "Aim" (Long Island, NY) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Quieting the Storm (Perfect Paperback)
Overall I enjoyed this book, it was a quick read because you wanted to see what was going to happen next. As far as the situations in this book being realistic I would have to say no. It seemed more like a soap opera where so many outrageous things kept happening to this girl,I kept wondering what else can happen to this girl. The relationship between Tommy and Quiet seemed more like a fantasy rather than a reality. It was nice to see her find love but her character did such a 180 once Tommy came into her life. I do like the message of the book which is you need to accept and love yourself in order to find love. I would recommend this book.

A poignant novel of personal trial, coming of age, self-discovery, love, and the priceless gift of true friendship,
By Midwest Book Review (Oregon, WI USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Quieting the Storm (Perfect Paperback)
Quieting the Storm is a novel told from the point of view young Quiet, of the middle of three sisters from Louisiana, who is heartbroken by the death of her elder sister - the only person she ever loved. Quiet runs away to New York to escape her dysfunctional family, but the bonds eventually lead her back to her childhood home. A poignant novel of personal trial, coming of age, self-discovery, love, and the priceless gift of true friendship, reflecting the importance of learning to recognize and forgive the foibles of human nature. Highly recommended.

This book is a page turner with a message. The hills and valleys of the characters compel you to keep reading. It is so wonderfully written that you can see pieces of yourself or someone you know in the pages. The life lessons taught in this book are clear and thought provoking. The imagery is like watching a movie. Excellent book.
