Book Description

June 2003
One born to be the Buddha was Siddhartha Gautama who lived six centuries before Jesus Christ when Ezekiel was prophesying to Judah and Israel. Of royal lineage, he left wife and new-born son, palace and power and set out to discover the cause of old age, disease and death. After six years and numerous experiments with yogis and ascetics, he communed under the bo tree for forty-nine days and brought forth out of nirvana - the consciousness where only God is real - the message of the Enlightened One. And to his disciples he presented the Four Noble Truths and the Eightfold Path, which have become the foundation of the Middle Way of life for millions.

5.0 out of 5 stars Beautifully Eloquent and Enjoyable, August 10, 2007

This review is from: Quietly Comes the Buddha (Paperback)
This is a wonderful, poetic journey on the path of the Buddha. It contains the challenges and victories of the soul mastering the ten perfections. I am still thoroughly enjoying it as a great accompaniment to meditation, as it is so rich and vivid in its descriptions, and very easy to understand. There are so many levels to the poetry, that I easily get caught in all the things that are said within one line, or one stanza. The 25th anniversary edition has some interesting mathematical formulae to meditate on as well.

The publisher also offers a wonderful cd on their own website (www.tsl.org), which has the author reading the book to music. It is wonderful to listen to when I am driving alone, or working at a computer for long periods.

If you are actively seeking something to help you with meditation, or just a something peaceful to read every now and then, or even an epic poem, you won't be disappointed. I absolutely love this book.
