Quigley Down Under (expanded), November 24, 2009
This review is from: Quigley Down Under (Expanded Edition) (Audio CD)
More than ever, scores like Quigley Down Under demonstrate just what a talented but under-used composer Basil Poledouris is. The movie failed to set the box office on fire, and the score itself is largely undiscovered by film music fans. Anyone with a fondness for expansive adventure scores with memorable themes should track down a copy of this album at all costs.

I have the original release soundtrack and it is truly one of my favorite albums ever, so when I recently came across the expanded version I was excited for good reason. This album is a must have!

Quigley Rides Again -- in our minds., June 22, 2011
This review is from: Quigley Down Under (Expanded Edition) (Audio CD)
Readers/Listeners,
Basil Polidouris outdid himself with this music. I believe he borrowed just a bit from the 1960s' TV series, "The Wild Wild West," and that's a GOOD thing. Very spirited theme, on both counts. Get this CD. As an aside, did you know Tom Selleck went to his doctor, complaining that he felt a little "Quigley Down Under"? [Sorry about that.]
