The Book of Bob,
By Bob (USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: The Quigmans (Paperback)
In this hilarious collection of wacky cartoons, you can follow the travails of Bob Quigman, a character who has such a low self-image that he once took a job as a speed bump, and has now taken an early lead in the middle-aged men's downhill race. See him on the beach, where women dress him with their eyes, and sympathize with him when a gal answers the phone and informs Bob that he called at a bad decade.
Watch Bob's significant other Francine demonstrate her flair with the flare gun. Thrill to cameo appearances by such celebrities as Rajneesh Dangerfield, Freud Flintstone, and Hugh Hefner, who orders a hit on Bob Quigman for his pathetic dating memoir, "The Platonic Verses". This book is a good 20 years old, and while some of the gags are quite dated -- "Miss USSR" and "Batman and Robin Givens" come to mind -- you'll still find at least one laugh on every 4-panel spread. Unless, like one very healthy but unimaginative character, you are immune to the germ of an idea.

Good!,
A Kid's Review
This review is from: The Quigmans (Paperback)
I bought this book in a used book shop. The Quigmans kind of reminds me of The Far Side as it has funny pictures and captains like The Far Side. It isn't as good as The Far Side but is pretty cute and I enjoyed reading it.
