After much research, I settled on these stands for my studio control room and haven't regretted it. I chose these over the "bargain" stands that you can normally buy from all of the major online music stores (with the single vertical tube, small platform, and adjustable height--you know the ones that I'm talking about). In a nutshell, here are what I perceive to be their pros and cons:
Pros: * Sturdy, welded steel construction (120 lbs capacity) * Large speaker platform (11" square) * Large triangular base * Choice of threaded feet for leveling: carpet spikes or rubber * Built-in cable management * Attractive Design * Priced affordably Cons: * Requires some ingenuity to fill with sand * Fixed, non-adjustable height * Poor support from Quik Lok Fore a more detailed review, including how I filled them with sand, check out [...] |
