I have purchased 4 of these stands over the years. They used to be made in Italy and were of very good construction. Production moved to China (of course) and quality suffered briefly. At that time I couldn't recommend. The last unit I got had missing parts, bent screws, bad welds, poor packaging, and a scratched and rusty frame. Quik-Lok USA was very responsive in correcting these issues however and admitted they were having transition issues.

It was therefore with some hesitation I purchased my most recent stand in April 2011. I must way, Quick-Lok has really cleaned up their act. The unit was double boxed in materials strong enough to be single boxed. Internal components were well packaged and individually boxed. A few good design changes have been implemented on the arms. Even an instruction sheet was included. All quality issues appear to be resolved, and I can now strongly recommend this stand again.

Setup is on the slow side if you travel and break it down all the way after every show, but I only use mine in the studio so that's no problem.

The only reason I did not give it 5 stars are the thumb screws on the upper support arms can disintegrate with repeated heavy torquing. These are bolts with a molded plastic end. If your upper keyboard is heavy, strong torque is required to keep it from sliding down. I've replaced all of mine with regular metric bolts from the hardware store with no more sliding. If Quik-Lok would replace these with an all-metal thumb screw, 5+ stars.

This stand replaced a x-style stand which made the keyboard a moving target at times. This baby is rock steady, I can bang away no worries. Like other reviewer stated, all of the detail assemblies were double boxed. Amazon even shipped this Quik-Lok box in a separate heavy duty cardboard box. All pieces fit together and assembled with no problem. I would buy this again if I needed another stand, or had another need for a portable table.
