This device will only fit mic stands, and it's platform can only be repositioned sideways, and up and down. You can't tilt the platform. It's quite heavy. Would have been nice if the platform were a little wider to hold things like an ipad or laptop. You might be able to hold a mini laptop, but barely. I suppose you could put your lunch on it at rehearsals. LOL Would have also been nice to be able to clamp to larger diameter objects. I don't like the screw clamp as there's nothing to keep the bolt from scratching the surface of your stand. I'd recommend putting a plastic or rubber cap on the end of the bolt.

I purchased this stand shelf for use with a headphone amp attached under my mixer. Unfortunately, it only fits the smaller stand post of the mic stand as the clamp opening is too narrow for the thicker stand post. This makes it a bit top heavy but still functional on my three leg stand. Too heavy for the round base type stands tho', and it will tilt over.

I bought this in order to have some extra storage space on my music stand. I use a TASCAM DP-008 to capture those rare, impromptu moments of brilliance when I am practicing, and I wanted to keep it within arm's reach. The first thing I noticed when this shelf arrived was how heavy it is for its size--it feels like it weighs about 3 pounds. I look at this as a positive feature, in terms of its build quality. Everything is metal except for the screw heads used to adjust the telescoping support and attach to the music/mic stand. (The screws themselves are metal, but the piece you grip is plastic.) The piece that attaches to the stand will take up to a 13/16 inch diameter (20mm), and the support at the bottom allows you to position the platform from .5 inches to 2.5 inches away from the stand. The only drawback I can see to the weight is that if you are using a lightweight mic stand with fold out legs, it might make your setup a bit top heavy. This definitely would not work on one of those small metal fold-up music stands you used in grade school--it is far too heavy for one of them. In terms of size, it's an 8.5 in square. My DP-008 fits on it, though it rests on the edges of the shelf as opposed to the flat surface. I could also see this being used at an open mic to give performers a place to set down their notes, extra pics, capos, etc. Overall I think this shelf would stand up to its fair share of abuse if you were to use it at performances. It is certainly more than adequate for home use.

I purchased this tray for headphone and other small item storage in my vocal isolation booth. I covered with carpet to reduce reflection, and mounted it on a pipe that runs vertically from the floor to the ceiling. The tray is very sturdy and a great size, but the clamp has proven unusable. I have not been able to tighten it or set it up in a way that does not make the tray droopy and unstable. I ended up rigging another clamp solution (with generous use of duct tape), so I am all set now. But only two stars because the tray did not work for me as delivered.

Great item. Built like a tank. As was said by others, the opening on the clamp does not fit the bottom part of a regular mic stand, but it does fit the smaller extension part of the stand that you use to raise the mic from your belly to your lip zone. That puts it at a great height for most people. It has an adjustment to allow you to place it closer to you. If you use a big pedalboard or have lots of junk on the floor, you can position your stand away from your feet and bring the tray out so you can reach it.It will not serve you drinks or make you play any better, but if you need a place for picks, cheat sheet, or a place for your slide or e-bow, this little stand tray is the bomb.

In a never-ending effort to miniaturize the needed space for solo performance, I purchased this shelf to hold a small pre-amp or vocal enhancer (e.g. Boss VE20). It is sturdy and does the job well. Fine price for this unique item. Great to have in your gig bag.As always, Amazon packaged and shipped it lightin' fast!

Forget it. Crummy fastener does not fit/tighten onto a standard mic stand/boom, leaving you with a droopy shelf, your stuff slides off! They need to tell you what size diameter stand it works on (only their own?). |
