Highly recommended for the home or small office.

If the manufacturer added some type of handle to the wastebasket, they would have a 5 star product.
Lisa
Makes no sense to get manufacturer approval to return the wrong item, not a defective item.

I had a cheap ($[...]) strip shredder that barely worked, jammed frequently and any 8 year-old with a little time could reconstruct. So I decided to get a cross-cut style. This one is solidly build, works as advertised and shreds into tiny little pieces that only a CSI with waaaay too much time on his hands could possibly get started to put back together. Highly recommended for the home or small office.

I highly recommend this shredder. It's far superior to any of the small-capacity shredders available through the big office-supply chains. It has a better motor than the others, it's built with higher-quality materials, and has not given me any of the problems that always seem to plague the cheaply-constructed ones (which are mostly made in China). Sure, it's more expensive... but as with many items, you get what you pay for. I've been through the lower-cost models - a lot of them - and the QuikFinish ShredderShark outperforms them by a mile. Not even close. Best of all, it's made here in the States. If you need a home or small-office shredder that's reliable and solid, save yourself some frustration and get one of these.

Shreads Credit cards and CDs too. I think 8 sheets at a time is bit much though. Still a good machine for the money.

I researched and researched and researched, and compared prices over and over. I took a chance on this shredder. At the time it didn't have many reviews and I thought the price too low for it to be any good. But it surprised me and I'm happy with my choice. It shreds papers and credit cards easily and quickly enough. Haven't tried shredding CDs. I use mine to shred credit cards and documents, clean out old files. So far it has not over heated. The automatic shreddering feature senses a feed everytime. I feed continuously, before it completes a shred I am feeding in the next batch and I've never had it jam. (I limit feed to no more than 6 or 8 sheets has recommended.) A quality product, I definitely recommend the reshredder for home office use.

One draw back, it is ackward to move without removing the shredder off the the wastebasket. If the manufacturer added some type of handle to the wastebasket, they would have a 5 star product.

The last shredder I bought from Staples started on fire while I was using it so safe operation was a concern. It has not gotten hot during home use. I was impressed with how much shredding would fit in the basket and how well it performed. It does the volume it says it will do and keeps on shredding. I have had it for several months and it has never failed me. Very satisfied.

Arrived on time and worked great. Just like with all shredders this one shouldnt be used according to the maximum allowable sheets of paper. It handles five pretty well. The paper bin is a little bit on the small side and is a little messy to clean because the paper gets caught in the rollers and you have to remove it by hand. The manual says not to run staples or labels through it and that is a pain because most mail comes with some form of label but i have been running labels through it and it seems to be doing fine after a month of daily use. Just use a little more shredder oil than usual. Pretty good unit overall for the price.
