4.0 out of 5 stars Intriguing Mystery, April 16, 2008

This review is from: Quilt as Desired: A Harriet Truman/Loose Threads Mystery (Paperback)
An engaging mystery, of special interest to quilters (I'm puzzled by the review from someone who refers to "arm quilting" which is really long-arm quilting, as any quilter would know), but certainly a mystery which stands on its own and has broad appeal. My 91-year old mother, who is an avid reader with an active and alert mind, loved it, and like Ms. Sachitano's other fans waits impatiently for the next book in the series.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Longarm Mystery!, January 14, 2009

This was a great book! Loved the characters and the quilting descriptions. I thought the author did a beautiful job with intros and descriptions. I read it in a day, and promptly moved to the second book in the series, and can't wait for others to follow. I accidentally ordered two, and it was so good, I'll be passing it along to my quilting friends. I love the fact that there is now a longarm mystery series, although, as a longarm quilter myself, I've never completed a show quilt in one day! I really appreciated how the author described different types of customers in this industry - most are wonderful, but every once in a while, we do get the difficult ones! Quilt as Desired was well written, and moved along at a great pace - a page turner! Great job!

5.0 out of 5 stars A TERRIFIC READ..., May 5, 2010

even tho I am not even close to quilting!! I enjoyed "meeting" all the people, being included in the events surrounding them (and the mystery) from page 1 and couldn't wait to reach the end. That fact kept me turning the pages so quickly that I couldn't believe it when the last page was done!! Lucky for me I was smart enough to order all three titles at the same time, so I merely headed off to my bookshelf and now I can go over to the page for "Quilter's Knot" and give that one a 5-star review as well!

I hope all you people out there who love a good mystery with good people will take advantage of this book and enjoy it without the feeling one needs to be sew crafty!!

4.0 out of 5 stars really keeps you guessing, October 24, 2008
This review is from: Quilt as Desired: A Harriet Truman/Loose Threads Mystery (Paperback)
I really enjoyed this. I like books that pull you in quickly and move along. This filled the bill. Plus, it really kept me guessing. All the clues kept pointing to one person, but in the end, I was surprised. Maybe I'm just not very smart! Anyway, if you like a mystery that's light and entertaining, this works.

5.0 out of 5 stars Every stitch counts, April 5, 2008
This review is from: Quilt as Desired: A Harriet Truman/Loose Threads Mystery (Paperback)
Not your average mystery. The infusion of the quilting makes this mystery a step above the rest. The characters are intriguing and I couldn't put the book down. It left me wanting to know more about the residents of Foggy Point. Hope there are more!

5.0 out of 5 stars Long-arm quilting and murder, April 10, 2011
By
Kaye Killgore (Portland, OR,USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Quilt as Desired: A Harriet Truman/Loose Threads Mystery (Paperback)
Harriet Truman has spent the last five years bitter and angry that her husband kept the fact that he had a terminal genetic illness, and was content having her very own pity party. Her aunt Beth has different ideas and called Harriet to Foggy Point, Washington to run her long-arm quilting business and live in her house while she goes on a long cruise. Harriet soon finds that aunt Beth has signed over her business and her house with the idea that Harriet needs to join society again. Harriet has no choice but to run the business until Beth returns and she can straighten all this out. She meets her aunt's friends in the quilting group, the Loose Threads, including Avanell, Beth's best friend. She also meets Aiden, Avanell's son the new vet in town. When Avenell is murdered and the studio is vandalized with the destruction of quilts, Harriet knows she needs to find the culprit. Oddly enough Aiden seems to turn up every time she turns around and she has to ask herself if he's involved. I loved this book and am looking forward to reading the next one.

It was a quick easy read, not too intense, nice for relaxing and not having to concentrate too much. I am a quilter, so I like stories that relate to that skill.

4.0 out of 5 stars quilting and mystery--what fun, August 22, 2009
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Quilt as Desired: A Harriet Truman/Loose Threads Mystery (Paperback)
I am a quilter and I loved the parts of the book that included quilting. I also liked the main character. She was unhappy and angry with her life. Then she comes upon a murdered friend and the book evolves from there. There is some romance, companionship, and some excitement. I am planning to read the next in the series.
