Price is only for one ring. In trying it, I realized why the video shows two being used. It's hard to get a good grip because it's less than a half inch thick. Annoying too is that you may have to remove the machine foot in order to get it under. I decided the price was too high to purchase two. Looking at other tools for gripping, I realized I already had a reasonable substitute that would work well and have far more flexibility in using it: a 24 inch flexible ruler that I use for measuring and marking curves. It's a grippy plastic, I can bend it to fit the area I want to grip, and don't have to worry about getting under the foot.

This makes a huge difference in control with free motion quilting. It adds weight to moving the quilt. Sharon Schamber invented it and shows u how to use it on You tube. Use this with Lickety Grip for your hands and the queen sized Supreme Slider for easy free motion quilting. Saw this on Quilt Tv when an award winning quilter used it. Watch Leah Day on You tube to see how to use the Supreme Slider (for ease in moving the quilt while free motion quilting).

If your sewing table area is quite large this would be a good product. With my standard machine with an add on extension table, the work area is not large enough for the Halo to work properly.

This is my second Halo. I wanted to put this Halo on my APQS George. The Halo will stay on my George so I will not have to constantly remove the foot on my machine to insert my Halo.

In other words -- I am using two machines. The second Halo is used with my Janome Horizon 8900.

This is also my second Queen Size Super Slider.

I would not have bought these two items unless they really worked. My machine quilting improved greatly using these two products. Have and would recommend these items, if you want to master your machine quilting.

It doesn't glide easily at all and is so small the presser foot keeps hitting it. I find using rubber gardening gloves works much better and is a heck of a lot cheaper.

This product does work if you have a wide machine bed and a LaPeirre Studio Supreme Slider under it. I purchased the Supreme Slider but do not have a wide machine base or set in sewing table. I have used this on a baby quilt but have to be careful about repositioning it often so it doesn't fall off the back, side or front of my machine bed. Now I need to purchase a clear plexiglass extention table for my machine (see the ones here [...]). I gave it a 4-star rating for those reasons. Over all, it is a great product and well worth the price.

I am fairly new to free motion quilting so I am trying to find what products work the best for me. I ordered this hoop along with a pair of Machingers quilting gloves to figure out what worked best. I preferred the gloves over this hoop. I felt like I had more control with the gloves. The hoop did not seen to grab the fabric and move it the way I thought it would.

I do not have a sewing machine that is set in the table. I was using this with an extension table. Maybe you need a larger area for this hoop to work well. I am not giving up on it yet. Since I am new to FMQ I feel lIke I will come back to this and try it again once I have improved on my skills.

I have tried gloves, rubber drawer liners, rubber thimbles... This halo has worked the best. It is easy to move and holds your working area just where you need it. I will recommend this product to my quilter friends. It works well with the Supreme slider.
