Just that....quilt styles, not patterns,

This review is from: Quilt Style (Hardcover)
Maybe I just didn't read the copy throughly, but there are no quilt patterns in this book. It shows all type and styles of quiltmaking, and is good for someone who thinks they would like to start the hobby (or addiction, as we quilters call it), and would like to see what styles of quilting might suit their taste. It is a lovely book, just not what I was looking for.

I was a little disapointed in this one. I must have missed something in the description. I thought it would have patterns on some of the quilts but there were none. However, I have enjoyed reading thru it and seeing some of the quilts in the book. Some of the information on some of the quilts was very interesting.

This book is a good book. However it focuses mostly on the quilts shown. Mainly who completed the work, when and where. There is little on the quilts themselves. This book would be good for someone who likes to read about people and their lives. It lacks the true quilters lore and the patterns are common in many other books. SOme useful information appears inside but not a good first book or reference book,
