Northern is a great soft tissue that doesn't contain a lot of lint like Kleenex Cottonelle. It's also septic-safe which is a plus for us hicks!
UPDATED 9-4-2013: My post was 2 years ago, and I have since discontinued the S&S automatic delivery. The price increased substantially not long after I signed up, and is currently $9.49, or about 50% more.
Too bad for everyone: the manufacturer, Amazon, and the consumer.
Now, the price has jumped up to $13.41, and the subscribe and save percentage they offer now is only 5%, which brings the total down to $12.74 - $1.06 per roll. No thanks. The toilet paper is decent, but at this price, hardly a bargain.
The paper is soft enough to not irritate the skin. There are softer papers out there but by no means is this hard like a industrial type paper.
It is also strong. I saw a reviewer said that the toilet paper breaks apart too easily. I have never experience the toilet paper breaking or falling apart while taking care of business. The only way I see this happening is if that individual was wiping their butt like he or she is wiping graffiti off ruff concrete.
as for the value, At the time I ordered I paid $7.47 with free prime shipping and no tax. This is the same price it was listed for at my local Walmart. What I have notice is that if the seller is not Amazon then the price is higher. So for example, right now as of my review posting date this product is only being sold by two 3rd party companies (GablesGator92 and better_bargains) with a price of $9.15/$9.79 plus $6.49 shipping. At $15 dollars you are better off going to Walmart or waiting till Amazon has these back in stock.
Con: I have a septic with older plumbing and the only con I have with this paper is that I find it clogs up the toilet on almost every flush. I have never experienced this issue with other septic safe toilet paper.
Overall I give this 4 stars its a good value/quality paper.

this is a quality bath tissue. I really like the double rolls as changing the roll is a task, NO ONE in our house enjoys or does have the time.Published on April 16, 2013 by kyle martinowich
with respect to the price (discounted, roughly $10/12 rolls), the deal is okay. But I like the ultra push more.Published on February 6, 2013 by joanne
It does the job and for the price it was totally worth it. I would buy this again for my family.Published on January 2, 2013 by M. Hunter
This bath tissue is a nice, soft, thick, two-ply in an extra-large, long-lasting roll. In spite of the width of the rolls, they still fit inside a toilet tissue caddy I use to... Read morePublished on July 26, 2012 by Kate McMurry
I've tried a lot of TP over the years, but ( no pun intended) this seems to be the best. It is now the only brand I buy. I like the double roles the best. Read morePublished on June 21, 2012 by G.B.
