A must have title for your library,
By Barbara Rhoades "Jackie of all Trades" (O'Fallon, MO USA) - See all my reviews (VINE VOICE) (TOP 1000 REVIEWER) (REAL NAME)
This review is from: Quilting Among Friends (Paperback)
This is a book that will remain in my library! Not only are there 15 quilt patterns, there is also a section of 53 blocks. This section shows the whole block, an exploded block, a list of colors used, the shapes needed and then a size list for anywhere from three to five different sizes of blocks. I know the cover says 55 so the other two must be counted from one of the 15 patterns.
The book also provides sections on how to do a fabric exchange, a block swap, have a block party, create a row quilt or do a round robin. The actual projects are divided into Charity and Children quilts, quilting retreat projects and milestone quilts - those that mark an event in life. The final section is a gallery of finished quilts. Each project begins with a colored photo and a paragraph about the quilt. Material and cutting lists are clear and have graphics to help explain the written word. The piecing of the blocks is next and it, too, has graphics to go with the instructions. Templates are provided at full size if they are needed for appliqué. No specific instructions are given on what design to use to quilt the quilt. When thinking of your next gift for your quilting friend, she/he will thank you for giving them this book. Now I only have to decide which quilt I want to make first and which quilt to have our guild start on first for our charities!!!

Friendly Projects,
This review is from: Quilting Among Friends (Paperback)
I like the projects, quilting tips, and especially the block references with different sizes, which is a quick, handy reference. All in all, I thought it was a fun book.

This book has a wealth of information and inspiration in it. I would highly recommend it to other quilters. Get girlfriends involved in a small sewing bee. What more fun could you have?
