Editorial Reviews

Review

Just because I liked a lot of the fresh designs in this book doesn't mean they're difficult or over-the-top time-consuming to make. Frankly, the designs aren't even all that unique, but they're colorful and appealing, and that alone sold me. Some of my faves are food-related (no surprise here), like the pear quilt and orange baskets, but I also love the cheery bird pillow, the cover daisy quilt, the flower baskets, the circles (at least the technique), and even the ultra-simple beach blanket. Should you buy it? Yup. Because of their ease and simplicity, these are perfect gift quilts. Yet, more accomplished quilters and applique queens will find something sweet and a bit challenging, too. Okay, so it's not a replacement for a date with Daniel Craig, but we can dream. --Mark Lipinski, Quilter's Home --March 2009

Here you will find everything you could wish for spring: easy and cheerful projects, bright colors. This very pretty book includes 14 original and fresh projects. --QuiltMania magazine

5.0 out of 5 stars Quilting projects of many sizes, March 22, 2009
This review is from: Quilting for Joy (That Patchwork Place) (Paperback)
Fourteen projects will keep your quilting urges busy for many hours. From pillows to wall hangings to quilts, there are projects of all sizes. And there are pieced and appliqués methods of creation.

As with most quilt books, a how-to section begins the book just in case you don't know how to do a particular technique or need a refresher on it.

Each project has a full color photo of the completed project and descriptive paragraph about the quilting item follows the photo. A materials and cutting list and easy to follow instructions on the completion of the blocks are found next, along with graphics of the steps to help those of us who love visual instructions.

Finished size of the project and finished block size are found beneath the next view of the whole project and then the finishing is left up to the individual creator. If any templates are needed, they included and full sized so you don't have to run out to the copy center before you can start!

The subject matter of the projects include birds, baskets, yo-yos, flowers, fruit and strip piecing - - something for every taste. By creating your blocks during the day and doing the appliqué in front of the TV at night, you will have your projects done in a flash!
