5.0 out of 5 stars Quilting projects of many sizes, March 22, 2009
This review is from: Quilting for Joy (That Patchwork Place) (Paperback)
Fourteen projects will keep your quilting urges busy for many hours. From pillows to wall hangings to quilts, there are projects of all sizes. And there are pieced and appliqués methods of creation.

As with most quilt books, a how-to section begins the book just in case you don't know how to do a particular technique or need a refresher on it.

Each project has a full color photo of the completed project and descriptive paragraph about the quilting item follows the photo. A materials and cutting list and easy to follow instructions on the completion of the blocks are found next, along with graphics of the steps to help those of us who love visual instructions.

Finished size of the project and finished block size are found beneath the next view of the whole project and then the finishing is left up to the individual creator. If any templates are needed, they included and full sized so you don't have to run out to the copy center before you can start!

The subject matter of the projects include birds, baskets, yo-yos, flowers, fruit and strip piecing - - something for every taste. By creating your blocks during the day and doing the appliqué in front of the TV at night, you will have your projects done in a flash!

This review is from: Quilting for Joy (That Patchwork Place) (Paperback)
Today's quilters don't quilt because they need to: they quilt from pure pleasure. Quilt-designing sisters Barbara and Teri provide here a fine gathering of projects that express their love of quilting, blending traditional with trendy fabrics and colors in 14 projects that focus on piecing and fusible applique. Instructions come complete with tips on assembly, and hold full-color photos for fine embellishments. Any needlework library will find this an asset.
