4.0 out of 5 stars took me to the next level
This book took my quilting to the next level by offering me useful tips that I had never learned. I feel like the quality of my work and the use of my "sacred quilting time" has been enhanced from what I've learned with this book. I love the easy readability. The guide is well-thought out and has been both helpful and enjoyable to own.

3.0 out of 5 stars A pretty good reference
I ordered this book thinking it would give me a great motivation to learn new quilting techniques, but it really didn't. It is a good guide for those techniques you don't know, but I didn't even know how to incorperate some of the techniques into my quilting, so it seemed a little overwhelming. This would maybe be good for a more advanced quilter. I am going to keep...

5.0 out of 5 stars A fascinating resource for new and seasoned quilters, March 22, 2009
This review is from: 200 Quilting Tips, Techniques & Trade Secrets: An Indispensable Reference of Technical Know-How and Troubleshooting Tips (Paperback)
A rich and stand out reference book of all manner of quilting - lavishly illustrated with color photographs and detail oriented tips. It's attractive and well designed. The typefaces are extremely legible; useful information abounds in every quick glance. Not one word or page is wasted; there is even a handy fold out flap displaying important measurements. Its 7 1/2 x 9 3/4" footprint makes it easily accessible. At the moment, it's sitting on my night table.

This guide is very well illustrated and is helpful whether you are a beginner in the world of quilting or you have experience and want to sharpen your technique. It will add something to every quilter's arsenal of tips that make quilting easier and more enjoyable.

I actually checked this out at the library and decided I wanted to write down everything so I had to have a copy of my own.

5.0 out of 5 stars An Excellent Resource, January 27, 2010

I have recently decided to begin quilting in earnest. I have made two baby quilts before with moderate success, but never quite knew my options as far as binding methods and for home machine quilting. I also felt I had gaps in my knowledge of pattern, techniques and general knowledge.

I picked up this book on the recommendation of a friend and I was very pleased with it. It very thoroughly covers almost everything you might need to knew about quilting. It covers a lot of information, but it is divided into small segments of info so you never feel bogged down with too much information. It has plenty of color photographs and illustrations to reinforce topics.

I can see myself coming back to this book as an easy reference again and again. I highly recommend this book to novice and expert quilters alike.

It is a good guide for those techniques you don't know, but I didn't even know how to incorperate some of the techniques into my quilting, so it seemed a little overwhelming. This would maybe be good for a more advanced quilter. I am going to keep it, for the future if I see/hear of a technique I am not familiar with, then I can use it for that. All in all, good info, but not quite as useful as I had hoped.

This is a wonderful book for newbie quilters and more experienced quilters alike. The descriptions are clear and easy to understand. The graphics are wonderful with step by step instructions. I have bought a few quilting how to books that I never even looked at again. This one was NOT one of them. A must for every newbie for sure!!!!

I'm a beginner to sewing. I took a quilting class from a local Bernina's last summer, so I know some basic techniques. This book is easy to read and follow. It incorporates everything from great illustrations and history behind different quilting styles, to cute tricks you can apply to make any sewing project stand out! I am glad I spent the money on this little gem and you will be too! :)

I bought this book as a gift for my mother, a hobby quilter. She absolutely loves this book and has been able to incorporate many of the tips and techniques into her quilting. It has provided her with ideas that would have never occurred to her otherwise.
