Editorial Reviews

Review

We all love quick quilt projects. This book provides us with 12 quick projects that can be completed in a weekend. They are suitable for all levels and have wide appeal. I really liked 6 of the projects so thought this was well worth the money. There are full size quilts, wall hangings, mats and a table runner. Clear instructions and great photos accompany each project. A fun book to liven up your quilting and make your weekends more fun.-Yarnsandfabrics.co.uk/crafts

More About the Author

I always wanted to be a writer. Other dreams of "what I wanted to be when I grew up" changed over the years, but being a writer was always there in the back of my mind. I took creative writing in high school. I minored in writing as an undergraduate while I majored in history. After working in a museum and learning first-hand about textiles, I taught myself to quilt. Later, I became a teacher and then a librarian. It's not surprising I combined writing, history, teaching and quilting in my book, Orphan Block Quilts.

I love this quilt book, have made two quilts from it so far very good directions and easy to read so you don't have to reread because it was confusing.

I have really been enjoying making these quilts. Very easy and lovely designs. I have made three of them in a couple of months but they would easily fit into a weekend.

This book contains several patterns which are quite nice to look at. The patterns are very good for people who work a lot of hours, and don't have huge amounts of time to devote to quilting, but still would like to make a nice gift for someone. If you are looking for a quilt to make which is more engaging, a little more complex, this book would not fit the bill. It is pretty easy to become bored with the patterns while sewing them, so may be overly simplistic for some.

If you are a beginning quilter, this book of patterns could be right up your alley!

Patterns are basic but even for the seasoned quilter, for a quickly quilt, good patterns!! For a beginner, they are great!!

As I read through this book, I found many quilts that I want to "build". The colors are great and the instructions are clear and concise.
This will be a welcome addition to my quilting library!
