These instructions make a bag that is a very nice design. However, what you are buying is a set of instructions - NOT a pattern. In addition, the instructions leave a bit to be desired. There should be a couple more diagrams and more notations. I was able to follow them, but I had to re-read some sections over a couple of times with the first bag I made. Also, there are three fabric combinations of the bag pictured. It would be nice if the cutting chart gave yardage for all three versions and not just one. I play it safe and buy a full yard of each of the three fabrics, rather than rely on what the instructions say, because there are no yardages for the optional versions.

I have made many of these purses. They have been well received as gifts. The inside has many pockets around the outside ready to hold all those things you need quickly. Also because it is fabric it makes a safe hideout for your cell phone without scratching. This pattern can be altered in small ways to suit your needs. One of my favorites.

The tote is very nice if you can figure out the miserable instructions. Right off the bat the first 4 sentences about the front pocket are useless. "Sew the front pocket piece to the front lining piece along the length."Okay, right sides together? Right sides out?? No clue. Called the quilt store where I bought the pattern and no one there knew how this went either.
Called the phone number listed for Quiltsillustrated was told the designer would return my call. Nope. Not so far anyway.
There are probably much better tote instructions out there, wish I had tried one of those instead. Save your money look around for a better pattern which really isn't a pattern just lousy written instructions.

Directions to this tote are spot on. I'm an advanced beginner and easily made this pattern. This makes beautiful totes, limited only by your imagination.
