This CD represents the artist at his finest. The "Sanford and Son" theme is a real treat, and "Ai No Corrida" is still one of my all-time favorite songs.Quincy Jones has traveled a long and distinguished route in his business, and his accolades are well-earned. I rate this CD 5 stars for the way it chronicles the evolution of a visionary.

This review is from: Quincy Jones - Greatest Hits (Audio CD)
"Greatest Hits" is too often given to compilations of songs whose inclusion will probably be disagreement by of listeners, reviewers, or even the record companies releasing the CD's. This album is no different.Jones' prolific career, spanning several decades, has produced an abundance of songs in several genres, well represented here. From his television work ("Sanford and Son" theme) to his covers of others ("You've Got It Bad, Girl," "What's Goin' On," and "Everything Must Change") to his pop hits ("Ai No Corrida," Just Once," "Stuff Like That,"and "Razzamatazz") to stellar album cuts ("I'm Gonna Miss You in the Morning"), one can see that he has done it all. Of course, "greatest hits" excludes so many that only a multiple disc set could do the musician justice. But, this one will have to do for those seeking a "hint" of his greatness. Running time: 1.3 hours
