Comment: A good well cared for copy with good dust jacket--occasional pages have a tiny "check mark"--2 pages only have a mild light stain--otherwise unmarked--from a private collection--in stock--Thanks from Jane

Editorial Reviews

Føllesdal and D. Quine have edited a superb collection of W. V. Quine's interviews, important articles, reviews, and comments on other philosophers such as Rudolf Carnap, Bertrand Russell, Donald Davidson, and P. F. Strawson. The unique theme of this handy volume is Quine's manner of engaging peers, critics, and students. The editors have chosen the pieces that make new points or expand upon his other writings; some of these have been unearthed recently in the Quine archive and are previously unpublished. The chapters reveal Quine's characteristic genius, wit, clarity of thought, and succinct prose. (L. B. McHenry Choice 2009-03-01)

6 of 6 people found the following review helpful By W. Jamison VINE VOICE on July 23, 2009
Format: Hardcover
This is an excellent example of Quine at his best brought out by the act of dialogue with those most likely to bring out the best.
There is wonderful material on his relationship with B.F. Skinner and who got who interested in what. Nice critique of Rorty's interpretation of Q's own work. Lots of interesting bits like that.
