This review is from: Quinito's Neighborhood/El vecindario de Quinito (Hardcover)
Quinito's Neighborhood is a bilingual English/Spanish picturebook by Ina Cumpiano about the local neighborhood of a young boy, Quinito. Quinito knows that his neighborhood consists of much more than just buildings, streets and shops - its most important element is all the people he knows and loves, such as his cousin who studies how to make people laugh in clown school and his aunt who paints murals to make the streets brighter. The bold color illustrations by Jose Ramirez strongly resemble the simplified yet vibrant artwork style of murals themselves. A cheerful picturebook that emphasizes the importance of community building blocks.
