From the Back Cover

#1 New York Times bestselling author Iris Johansen explores the darkest corners of the human heart as forensic sculptor Eve Duncan closes in on the killer who stole her daughter so many years ago.

As a former Navy SEAL turned cop, Joe Quinn has seen the face of evil and knows just how deadly it can be. When he first met Eve, he never expected to fall in love with a woman whose life would be defined by her dual desires to bring home her missing daughter and discover the truth behind her disappearance--no matter how devastating. With the help of CIA agent Catherine Ling, Quinn makes a shocking discovery that sheds new light on young Bonnie's abduction and puts him squarely in the crosshairs of danger. Eve's first love, John Gallo, a soldier supposedly killed in the line of duty, is very much alive--and very much a threat. Now, as

their search takes them deeper and deeper into a web of murder and madness, Joe and Eve must confront their most primal fears…and test their resolve to uncover the ultimate bone-chilling truth.

like most people that have read Quinn within 2 days of it being published, i'm an Iris Johansen fan that has read all of the Eve Duncan books. the Eve/Quinn/Bonnie books should probably just be one book...and definitely should have come out at the same time. "Eve" was interesting because it told the story of Bonnie's father...Quinn was pretty much all fluff and stuff we already knew. and generally speaking, leaving fans to hang on to the cliffhanger endings of subpar books to find out what happened to Bonnie is wrong. somehow curiosity has overcome my disappointment and at this point, i just want to find out what happened to Bonnie. if "Bonnie" doesn't clear it all up [especially after a 3 month wait and three time $12.99 hit for the series], i don't think I'll ever buy another book by Iris Johansen...enough already!

This book is obviously an attempt by Iris Johansen and her publishers to milk as much money as she can before she finally lets her devoted readers off the hook with who killed Bonnie.

Quinn adds nothing new and sheds no light on who killed Bonnie. At least half of this book is devoted to material the reader already knows. To add insult to injury, there is no "ending" at all to this book. What is the purpose of it then? More money for the author and publisher, less for the devoted reader...Skip this book. I borrowed this book from a friend, and she is putting it back up for resale.

If you read the first book, you know there are only two viable suspects at this time. No one is going to be surprised at how Book 3 ends. Shame on you, Iris. Your readers deserve better!

Quinn
She must have had. Somebody else. To have written. This book. Most of the book. Was written with choppy. Short sentences. Like this. Where the heck was. The editor?

I have read all Iris Johansen's books, and enjoyed most of them. This was the worst yet. The story was more about Catherine's exploits, while Eve sat holding Joe's hand in a hospital room. Boring! I couldn't wait til it ended!

I have enjoyed most of the Eve series, but this book was a total waste of time. There is such a thing as "beating a dead horse" and I believe Johansen has achieved that lowly pinnacle with the publication of Quinn. The last 3 books, Eve, Quinn and Bonnie should have been one heavily edited volume instead of the obvious money grab that was produced. Shame on the editor.

Iris Johansen and her publishers should be ashamed of themselves and give us back our money! For those of us who have read all the Eve Duncan books, "Quinn" was just filler to keep us buying books and spending money. The first half of the book offered us nothing new, especially if you are a follower of the series. I felt the rest of the book belonged to Catherine and John Gallo and offered us virtually nothing new about what happened to Bonnie. You know what I think? I don't think the author knows what happened to Bonnie and she keeps writing books until she figures it out!!!

I still love the Eve/Joe relationship but think it should have progressed to marriage by now. Eve has really cheated Joe out of a full relationship due to her obsession with Bonnie. No wonder Joe has been getting impatient and resentful. I don't blame him. And the Jane character -- I just have never been interested in her and she just makes a cameo appearance here.

I think the author may be planning to phase out Eve and Joe and have Catherine as her main character. But don't tell me that we are going to learn more about Bonnie and then give me a love story between Catherine and John. I feel ripped off and am not quite sure whether I will read "Bonnie" when it comes out in October.

Iris - get a grip and give your loyal fans the real story of what happened to Bonnie, let Eve and Joe get married and have a bsby and ride off ito the sunset and I swear I will never read you again. You owe us!!

I have read all the Eve Duncan books and enjoyed most of them very much. The last couple of books have just not held the spark of the first ones in the series, though. I was hoping this one would have that missing spark, but, for me, it just didn't. It felt stale and pieced together.

Quinn is still a very intense, quick book to read. The writing was good and the pace was very fast. It is certainly a good book for reading on the beach, but it isn't a heavy-weight thriller. That's not to say that there aren't many twists and turns and shocks along the way. There are, and it did keep me turning the pages to find out just what would happen next.

I wonder if we'll ever know what really happened to Bonnie. I don't think it would have to mean the end of the Eve Duncan series. She could find another child or cause to get obsessed with. More than anything else, I would someday like to know what did happen to Eve's daughter. The book that tells me that will get 10 stars!!!

Overall, okay book, good for reading when you're in the mood for a quick-paced thriller. Just don't look for any real, major surprises from this one.

ETA: When I wrote this review, I wasn't aware that the next book will be Bonnie, the third book in a trilogy in this series, and it will tell Bonnie's story, so I will finally know what happened. I wasn't aware of the trilogy, but I am happy to find that out. Don't know how I missed hearing/reading about the trilogy thing...
