This bag is HUGE! I bought it to use in a simple recipe (mix with peanut butter, refrigerate and then roll into balls and dip in dark chocolate...SO GOOD;) After making the recipe a few times, I STILL have a ton of puffed quinoa left to add to cereals, sandwiches, ...just about anything that could use an extra boost of protien.

Great product!

This is a key ingredient for a healthy snack using homemade peanut butter (or other nut butter), shredded coconut, flax seed, chia seed and whatever else you want to use. Form into balls and chill. Great tasting snack.

This is NOT a crunchy product. This is a PUFFED product (soft), which is sort of like Puffed Rice cereal (sort of like Sugar Smacks, but softer). If you go in knowing that it will be soft, you'll be fine - so be aware that it's soft (like those tiny styrofoam balls), not crunchy like rice.

I thought 1.5 pounds would be bigger - it's a decent size though. I haven't found a way to puff quinoa at home and I've never seen a product like this locally, so this was my only resource for purchasing it. It's expensive, but it's a good product if you'll use it a lot. I have a grains allergy, so I can't do rice, and puffed amaranth is just too small for a lot of things I like to make.

There are lots of great recipes for this, just do a search on Pinterest for ideas. I've made puffed quinoa peanut butter balls dipped in chocolate a couple times with good results. Roll in some chopped nuts in the batter for crunch, some honey for the sugar flavor, and add some coconut oil to help solidify your melted chocolate chips - bingo, fun snack loaded with protein. Also do a search for "quinoa goji bars", which are kind of like an awesome granola bar.

You can use this in parfaits, on yogurt, in all kinds of chocolate recipes (Nestle Crunch-style chocolate bars, homemade Reese's Peanut Butter Cups, etc.), homemade cereals, and even as a fun chocolate-covered strawberry coating. It's a fairly unique product because it's smaller than puffed rice and a different shape, so there's a lot of possibilities for interesting recipes with it.

The good: considerable volume for the price. The bad: not crunchy. Unfortunately, we buy puffed quinoa primarily because it adds a crunchy texture to salads, but this doesn't work for that purpose.

The puffed quinoa was very stale, so now I have a big bag of stale quinoa to eat, I will never purchase this again. I love puffed quinoa, but not from this company
