One of the best albums ever!,

With out any doubt, this is David Grisman's greatest collaboration... It is one of my favorite albums of all time. The music is timeless and uplifting. The musicianship is incredible, the cohesion of the group is amazing, and the song selections are great. The fact that this LP has never made it to CD is unbelievable.

This is my favorite LP.
It's famous and excellent music, but isn't sold by the form of CD. I don't know the reason why. Anyway,I highly recommend this music(David Grisman's DAWG music) for everyone.

I know this album exists in CD format in Heaven, but will they ever release it in this world, preferably in my lifetime? In the meantime we have vinyl! I`m not getting any younger, Warner Bros! Please forgive David Grisman, and release this in CD for for the sake of the betterment of the human race!

Bought this back in the early 80's to give to my youngest brother as a gift. Soon realized it was a truly amazing recording. By far the best end-to-end creation I've ever heard from the man - and that's no put-down on David's other stuff, which I like a lot. But I'm absolutely stunned that this hasn't been able to find a way out to younger ears. I mean, I actually haven't heard this in about 3 years (dead turntable) but the music is still as alive in my head as a crystal cool stream after all this time. Dawg, you listening ? Gotta get this recording out to the masses!! Peace and thanks !

I ordered this vinyl as a christmas gift for my boyfriend...and sort of for myself as well...in the name of gift giving. Not only is it gorgeous, but it is truly a find for bluegrass lovers. I highly recommend this album for anyone looking to rekindle their connection to bluegrass roots....or just to admire david grisman and the other fine musicians, such as wasserman....each time i listen to it, i hear something new...like a beautiful rendition a whiskey before breakfast jam. As I am not an avid record collector as much as an avid music geek : ) ) Therefore i don't buy records just to add to my inventory and I did not think of this as being a valuable buy other than for the rare music it holds, however, i do think it's quite a buy on my part! and vinyl form just so happens to be a personal favorite, no matter what the album....many thanks to those who left enough encouragement for me to go ahead and buy this, it's truly wonderful. much peace and love brothers and sisters!

I have an unopened double of this LP, thinking I wanted this record in pristine condition, wanting "Naima" in its beautiful sparse elegance, without scratches - before CD's were invented. I've e-mailed Warner Brothers, e-mailed Acoustic. The CD form is on the wane, but I like to think there's still a market for excellence. They announced the death of vinyl years ago, but it's on a dubious upswing. If they were to put this out on CD, maybe the digital sales would justify it, though I'd pay full price for the CD.

Please re-release on CD,

Agree with all that's been said. I would place Hot Dawg ahead of it as my fav, but that's really splitting hairs. I have a good rip of this from vinyl and I listen to it all the time on my iTunes. I also just posted a hi-res cover. Enjoy.

Yes. The Best.,

You guys are right. This is probably one of Grisman's best compilations, and strangely it hasn't come out on CD. Wonder what's up with that.

I agree very strongly with the friend of Milwakee. This one is probably the best work by David Grisman and his wonderful fellows.
