About the Author

Phyllis Martin's latest book is a delight for the mind and heart. I am a professional writer, and reading this book immediately upgraded my word usage. (Did you know that forte, meaning strong point, is pronounced with one syllable?)


I was also inspired by the many savvy sayings on topics from words and work to animals and famous people. One of my favorites is, "Time is the coin of your life. . . Be careful lest you let others spend it for you." --Carl Sandburg

As with all of Phyllis Martin's books, her wit and sense of humor are evident throughout. She has culled a lifetime of wisdom into this slim volume. Read it to turn tired language into precise and elegant expression!
