never thought i'd see this album again. i'm preordering it in hopes i will actually be able to get it eventually. i owned the lp back in the 80's. you think the manhattan transfer has the market on this type of big band vocalizations? not after hearing this group. wish there was more of their stuff available. for now, thats all...sczki@aol.com 12/09/04

Quire was underrated and overlooked,

A cappella jazz album that was much maligned when Quire first came out to horrid reviews. Those critics ignored the simple perfect beauty and embraced cynicism. I fell in love with this album the first time I heard it on radio in 1980. "Blue Rondo..." will eventually appear on a luxury car commercial and should be mandatory study in jazz music classes. You can't help but smile or laugh during "...A Train". You can't listen to this music over and over but you won't EVER forget the beautiful strains of this incredibly executed album. Thank you Christine LeGrand. The best isn't always the most popular, or recognized in a timely manner.
