My first Antarctic exploration was an unmitigated disaster. A few day's steam out of Chile's Punta Arenas we hit a patch of rough sea & our number one engine went out. We had to anchor off a little spit of rock nearing the Drake Passage.
As the days turned into weeks, I spent my time observing and befriending the colony of penguins that shared our rocky port. Lil' Lemmy, Mr. Big Neck, Nick-Nack, Paddiwacxk, Snarltooth, Professor Puffnstuff - a motley crew to be sure.
Their antics proved to be my salvation through those lonely days and nights at the bottom of the world.
These fine penguin key caps remind me of my short friends. Every time I grab my keys I smile at the recollection of TwoBit falling over teakettle down an icy slope.
Also a plus; the six unique designs make it easy for me to find the right key for the lock.
