This outlet strip has to go down to the "why the heck didn't somebody make one of these before" category. The strip is simple and effective. The old solution was to space the outlets farther apart to accommodate wall warts.

This is sort of your normal every day outlet strip with six outlets. There is a nice white on off button beside the power cord. When turned on, the area around the button glows blue. The electrical cord is about six feet long and heavy duty. The electrical plug is one of those round flat plugs that is canted about 45 degrees, so when plugged in the wall the wire is on an angle pointing up the wall (no idea why the heck they do that, its annoying). The whole thing has a good heft to it. That's the normal every day part.

The cool part, this thing swivels. Each outlet has a rotator around it. There's one good thing, you can circle the wagons and have it wrap around a table leg. But that's not really the reason for the rotating (I've never needed to wrap my outlet strip around a table leg). The reason for the rotator is wall warts, those nasty AC adapters that take up two or three outlets on a power strip. With this little strip, it is possible to plug in six multi-outlet eating wall warts. Simply plug one wall wart in, and twist until it is out of the way of the adjacent outlet. Keep doing that for all the wall warts.

There is a limit for some wall warts. There are those big honking ones that actually take up three outlets, those really wide ones. Those can be twisted to only cover two outlets. Still not a bad deal.

The construction is decent. The plastic appears to be sturdy. 670 Joule surge protection is not massive, but still not bad. It does not have a UL approval.

I now own three Quirky outlets; they all work well and really do accommodate those nasty AC "bricks". But it really comes up short where it counts the most--at the wall. Having a flat-head, right-angle plug connection will not go into the outlet if there is another plug above or below. It should have a straight-in plug. Better yet, maybe Mr. Zien could design rotating prongs that would work on a right-angled plug. That's worth five stars.

I use this under my bed for my adjustable frame, air mattress, nighttable lamps, etc. All fit, no wasted sockets.

But it has a blue light signaling it's on that is as bright as any night light. First night it was more or less near the edge of the bed and the light was so strong I had to get up and shove it further under the bed. Second night I was so annoyed with the light I got some duct tape and had to cover it up.

I'd have given it 5 stars if that light wasn't so bright or if I wasn't using it in my bedroom.

One worked fine and the other was defective. Sparks was coming out when I put something in the socket. Plus I had to pay for shipping to return the defective product. Wasn't to happy about that. When a product is defective the company that sells it needs to pay for shipping.

As soon as I plugged it in and turned it on, I heard a loud pop, followed by a flash around the power button. Soon after I noticed a very stong burning smell coming from the power strip. I immediately unplugged the unit. I'm not sure if it caused any damage to my outlet or electronics. Will be returning ASAP. I tried looking for a customer service number or email for Quirky to inform them of the hazard, but coun't find any contact info on the product packaging or website. Was very suprised since other reviews seemed good.

I bought three of these in April of last year and each of them has had issues. The blue power light on one of them stopped lighting up within a few months of purchase. One of them was dropped from a distance of a few feet onto hardwood flooring and the white plastic casing in the area of impact cracked and broke off. (I had hoped/expected a power strip to put up with this kind of minor abuse, but I guess not.). The last one I have been using on a temporary basis for a couple computer peripherals and is left unplugged until when I need one of the peripherals. When I plug the Quirky strip in, sometimes the plugged in peripherals will not turn on and I will have to unplug/replug the Quirky a couple times to get the peripherals to turn on. Expect for the one dropping incident, I have not been abusing the power strips, two have been barely touched since I got them (except the one I'm using for computer peripherals has been getting plugged/unplugged since a few weeks ago) and the third gets moderate use (and was the one that got dropped).

I second the other reviewers about the fantastic flexible design. I love that it looks good and don't mind it being visible in non-office areas, such as my living room. It seems to me, though, that a lot of thought was put into the looks and movement and very little into the durability. This makes me wonder how safe it truly is for my electronics. Given how non-durable it is, at $34, it is way overpriced. FYI last year it was only $30.

I bought this power strip a couple of years ago and have liked the design, the flat head and bendable strip. Lately, though I've heard a crackling sound (very low so almost unnoticeable except in a quiet room) and one of the outlets that wasn't in use was super hot and the source of the crackling noise. Not sure how long that's been going on, but I immediately unplugged it. I'm very disappointed, up to now I've thought it was a great product, now I'm cringing at all the times I've left it plugged in while gone wondering how close I might have come to a disaster. Like I said the crackling was so low, you'd pass it off a some background noise coming from somewhere in the house.

I'm not an electricity expert, but I'm thinkin' that's not good. Probably too late to return it, but staying away from their products.
