This from QUIRKY'S Website: (EDIT: still current Jan 2012)
[...]

PowerCurl sizes match up with the default adapters for following MacBook models:
----------------------------------------------------------------------
45W = MacBook Air
60W = MacBook, 13-inch MacBook Pro
85W = 15- and 17-inch MacBook Pro
85W long = older generation 15- and 17-inch MacBook Pro (rectangular)
----------------------------------------------------------------------

EDITED: The info above was current in 2010. As Amanda commented, you need to "order the powercurl that matches the charger you have."

The Apple power adapter has two design flaws: an unruly extension cord and overheating. The PowerCurl solves both problems. It's a must-have for any MacBook owner.

Upon unwrapping the PowerCurl, I noticed how light and flexible it is. When I put it on the adapter, my first thought was that it was bulky. However, it's really no more bulky than the adapter w/ both cords wrapped around it. Finding a place for it in a laptop bag shouldn't be a problem. And it comes with a little clip to attach the end of the extension cord to itself, similar to the one that Apple puts on the end of the MagSafe cord.

Besides keeping both cords wound up when the adapter isn't in use, the PowerCurl keeps the adapter cooler when it is in use. It covers a minimal amount of the adapter and, when stood up vertically on its side, it allows for better airflow along all surfaces.

Edit: When ordering, be sure to select the correct size. It's good to have your power adapter handy to make sure you get the right one (45W, 60W, 85W, 85W long).

The PowerCurl is sold in dark charcoal gray plus 4 tropical colors: orange, lime green, hot pink & baby blue (which looks aqua in person). It would be nice if it also came in white and in a less summery color, like red or cobalt blue. (Color offerings may change over time.)

Other than the color selection, I've got no complaints. I would certainly buy it again.

Edit: I should add that though I thought the S&H charges were rather high for something so small and light, it did arrive very quickly.

I am actually very happy with this purchase. It is a really practical accessory that does exactly what it is supposed to do. The range of colors should fit almost every customer out there. The fact that the accessory is slightly concave on both sides does an excellent job of keeping the adaptor off the ground and helps dissipate the heat better. One thing that I do to enhance this cooling even more is to stand it up vertically on one of its sides, thereby doubling the surface area exposed to the air.

My only complaint is in regards to the clip that they provide for keeping the power cord in place. I've found that the plastic used in it is almost too soft for the job, and the clip overall seems too small for the circumference of the thicker power cord. It is extremely difficult to get the cord to lock in place with this clip as the "teeth" would rather collapse into each other rather than expand and "bite" down on the cord. And this morning when I went to wrap up my cables, it would appear that the clip has fallen off somewhere on the floor in my living room and I didn't have time to go hunt it down.

Improve the clip that comes with this product and get five stars!!!

I hate to be the lone dissenter, but I am not at all satisfied with this. It looked quite bulky to me in the pictures, but based on the reviews here that I read, I took the plunge anyway, thinking that I was probably not looking at it in the right prospective. And when I opened up the box, my first impression was that this thing was not going to save me any space in my backpack; it's huge!. After one day of squeezing this into my pack, and dragging it out (By the way, it's like rubber and drags every cable and loose paper along with it), it was just too much of a pain to work with. The problem is that it doesn't save any room or add any real convenience, which was the whole point.
It would be a whole lot more convenient if someone would just design a shorter version of the Apple AC power cord. That's really the bulky part of the whole arrangement. Maybe something 1 to 1/12 feet long. I may just cut mine down and be done with it.

I bought the PowerCurl from Quirky when it first came out and it's a no brainer -- it makes it incredibly easy to wrap up your power cord without creating kinks or having it get tangled. I travel pretty often, so the PowerCurl makes wrapping up and storing the power cord easy. Considering I use this every day, $15 is a steal. Mine is in great condition 2 years on. My only comment for Quirky is to bring back the older colors; there used to be orange and green and pink. I just bought one for my wife's MacBook. Luckily for me, my wife really likes the powder blue of this new one.

One of the things that annoys me is that despite having a perfectly designed power adapter for the Macbook, once you attach the longer power cable , it becomes incredibly ugly and unwieldy. Previously I had been wrapping it in all sorts of ugly ways. It wasn't a good solution.

The PowerCurl is pretty awesome - it's a good way to wrap up your adapter and protect the power adapter from unsightly scratches/marks. And since they do have a tendency to get mighty warm, it's a good solution for giving it more ventilation.

Please note that there are different sizes for each different Macbook, so make sure you order the one that fits yours.

For $10, I have a nice solution to keep my power cable under wraps, no pun intended, which providing a degree of protection for it. It's totally worth the purchase.
