This how-to, where-to, what-to, guide to Key West, FL is deceptively short yet comprehensive. Far from being your typical boring travel guide, there's alot of tongue-in-cheek humor in these pages about the place. It's more like a travel guide on LSD. There's a month by month section giving the best times to visit and what to expect in terms of traffic etc etc. From the best spots to drink & eat (notice I listed drink 1st) and "must sees" to insider type secrets about parking and transportation known only by locals it packs quite a bit of helpful info into its 100+ pages. If you're planning on visiting Key West or as the authors jokingly suggest throughout --- quitting your job and moving there, be sure to give this unique and entertaining book a read first!

A thoroughly enjoyable book to read, full of great "locals" tips, hilarious tidbits, and even a few really smart tips for those of us actually trying to quit our jobs and move to Key West! If you've ever dreamed of leaving the snow and cubicles behind, this might even help light a fire under you. It sure did for me!

Just an FYI, this book is for sale on the Jimmy Buffett website for $14.95. Don't get ripped off by people that are charging over 30 dollars!

David Sloan and Chris Shultz did a great job describing what living in Key West is really like. I've lived there for six years and have been sending this book to my friends back north to make them jealous. Lots of humor and good info.

But not what I would call a complete guide on how to give it all up and move to "paradise". Don't get me wrong there are some helpful hints in here, and it is a humourous read, but if you've been to Key West any number of times, you probably know everything included. It is at least worth the price to buy the book and leave it lying on your desk for everyone to see!

I lived in Key West 20 years ago and found the information in this book to be very accurate. The authors capture the oddity and humor of the island and it's residents in their writing. I laughed when I read that while living in Key West, you may hear "two drunk drag queens bitch slapping each other in the alley behind your house at 3 am". I have heard this more than once under my window when I lived there!

Fun book. I bought it for my wife because everytime we go down there, she tries to fiqure out a way to quit her job and make Key West our home. We both read it and had a lot of laughs and now my wife believes it is definetly possible to quit her job and move down. We throughly enjoyed it and she gets to keep her dream alive until our next trip down. Well worth the price.
