QUIXOTIC. a double disc set, is the result of a reunion of sorts with long-time friend and producer ADAM LASUS (Clap Your Hands And Say Yeah). Performing on the record are DUANE JARVIS (Lucinda Williams, Frank Black, PF Sloan), JASON MERCER (Ron Sexsmith, Ana Egge) and JORDAN RICHARDSON (Oliver Future). For Keating, this record was really about re-connecting with the plain old fun of playing in a band, writing songs, and recording.

Matt Keating has been putting out great music since the early 90s and with Quixotic he has created one of his best albums to date. I could write about which songs are my favorites, or why I find something interesting about every song on this album, but that's just describing my experience. Everyone has their own take on an album.

You should just buy it and listen for yourself. If you are a fan of great songwriters like Peter Case, Loudon Wainwright III, Freedy Johnston, Elvis Costello, etc. you should add this CD to your collection. You will undoubtedly find some gems on here.

Trust me. It is well worth it (heck, it's a 2-CD set, priced cheaper than many single disc albums). Albums like this don't come around all that often.
