Reading this book is only the first step in researching whether the Quixtar business opportunity is for you or not. Don't bother reading the reviews of those that attack the business - rather read the reviews of the book itself. 3.0 out of 5 stars Sounds like some common sense is called for.
Enthusiastic & pretty exhaustive coverage of Quixtar. Tells you just about all you'd want to know. Curious about the agenda of the critics above & why they bought a book on a topic where they seemed to have a pre-determined outlook? (For that matter, did they buy it before "reviewing" it?) The book can't be faulted on factual accuracy, whereas...

This review is from: The Quixtar Revolution: Discover the New High-Tech, High-Touch World of Marketing (Paperback)
Reading this book is only the first step in researching whether the Quixtar business opportunity is for you or not. Don't bother reading the reviews of those that attack the business - rather read the reviews of the book itself. The book is enthralling - I read it in less than 3 days and reading is not my favourite hobby. It is obviously biased but what would you expect from a book titled "The Quixtar Revolution" ? (think!) The style of the book is very easy to read and easy to understand. Mr Barefoot mixes in his many interviews with prominent Quixtar business leaders while still giving a historical account of how the Internet and e-commerce have come into being and where the opportunities lie in the future. According to his previous writings he is quite an authority on the subject and worth listening to. After reading the book and getting my questions answered by people who were successful at this business who also claimed they would help me, I decided to do it. For YOUR sake, read this book, research this business opportunity, make a decision to get involved, then ignore the naysayers. See you in the traffic or on the beach. Your choice...

5.0 out of 5 stars QUIXTAR REVOLUTION, this book tells it as it is!, November 20, 1999

Janet (United kingdom) - See all my reviews
This review is from: The Quixtar Revolution: Discover the New High-Tech, High-Touch World of Marketing (Paperback)
Read this book and check out the web site! This is my advice to people reading the `reviews` by all those proffessional Amway hate merchants. If you take the trouble to do this, you will see for yourself that what Coy Barefoot says is no hype! Amway products are a tiny pecentage of the thousands of brand named products offered at discounted prices by the partner stores on Quixtar.40 million hits per day, over 20 thousand pages at the last count, 19 servers, this has to be one of the best e-com. sites in the world. It`s certainly the only one that offers such a fantastic business opportunity. How can anyone loose money by buying their goods at discounted prices and then showing others how they can do the same? Read the book, then find out for yourself!

Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: The Quixtar Revolution: Discover the New High-Tech, High-Touch World of Marketing (Paperback)
A great history lesson about the economic revolutions of the past and how they relate to ecommerce today. It will give anybody in the business a greater perspective about Quixtar and there own business. I also enjoyed the interviews with the Quixtar leaders who offer their own insights about the Quixtar revolution.

4.0 out of 5 stars An excellent look at a great opportunity for anyone, November 20, 1999

This review is from: The Quixtar Revolution: Discover the New High-Tech, High-Touch World of Marketing (Paperback)
I gave only 4 stars because it is done so early it cannot do total justice to this opportunity. It does, however, give an excellent review of the shopping and business practices throughout our history, as well as a history of computers and their use in this society. It cannot miss, and those who look at it objectively will see a degree of business genius surpassed by no one in these times. I truly believe that in 5 or 10 years there will be a sizeable number of new millionaires who will be starting from scratch with this Quixtar business. An easy read that holds your attention.

5.0 out of 5 stars Respected People Respect Amway (& Quixtar), November 30, 1999
This review is from: The Quixtar Revolution: Discover the New High-Tech, High-Touch World of Marketing (Paperback)
The Coy Barefoot book, "The Quixtar Revolution" is excellent on a number of levels - History of Commerce, (beginning through current e-commerce), and the Quixtar Business Opportunity.

As for the naysayers that have come here to badmouth Amway/Quixtar:

Q: What do the following people all have in common?

Thomas Donahue, President - United States Chamber of Commerce

Sam Jadallah, Vice President, Enterprise Sales - Microsoft

Stephen Covey, Author - "The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People"

Richard Karlgaard, Publisher - Forbes

Jolene Sykes, Publisher - Fortune

Wayne Huyard, President - Mass Markets -MCI World Com

Hyrum Smith, Co-Chairman of the Board - Franklin Covey

Wolfgang Schmitt, Chairman - Rubbermaid

R. Craig Hoenshell, Chairman, CEO - AVIS

Jack Haire, Publisher - Time

Stuart Silver, Co Designer - Ronald Reagan Presidential Library

Dr. Noel Brown, President - Friends of the United Nations

Brian Segal, Publisher - Macleans

Carolyn Wall, Publisher - Newsweek

John Engler, Governor - State of Michigan

Gary Player, Professional Golfer

A: They are all, (in order of appearance), in the video "Respected People Respect Amway"

Think of what these people have put on the line by appearing on this video: The combined credibility and integrity of United States Chamber of Commerce, Microsoft, Forbes, Fortune, MCI World Com, Franklin Covey, Rubbermaid, AVIS, Time, Macleans, Newsweek, and more.

Think about this:

People who are opposed to Amway/Quixtar oppose the views of ALL of the above "Respected People".

One would have to be arrogant or intelligent beyond belief to hold a 'business' view in opposition to ALL of those people. More likely, a difference of opinion would be on an emotional level.

5.0 out of 5 stars even for the computer illiterate....this book makes sense!, November 11, 1999

This review is from: The Quixtar Revolution: Discover the New High-Tech, High-Touch World of Marketing (Paperback)
a very honest viewpoint of how we can be part of e-commerceLike many people, I have read and heard about the new e-commerce revolution and the way it is going to affect our lives however becoming a part of it and making an income from e-commerce seemed a world away and only available to those lucky one's with technical knowlege, major funds and willing to take the risk. This book shows quite clearly how the public can tap into the new industrial revolution of the 21st century, without having to invest money in stock or a shopping website, yet potentially build a full time income or choose to just save money..without having to give up one's career. The book gives a very balanced viewpoint, making it clear this is not a 'get rich' opportunity, yet showing by trends etc. that everyone can benefit in some way. The fact that buying trends are changing and people are fed up with the 'rat race' puts Quixtar in the right place at the right time, for people to build their own on line e-commerce business. The book also shows how Quixtar allows the housewife, budding executive, single person or whoever to be a major part of the e-commerce revolution and amazingly build a worldwide business. Like everything the proof of the pudding is always in the eating and since reading the book I have checked the site out and found it to be very impressive and popular....already 5th in the hit charts (I believe). I found it quite amazing that over $100 million dollars has been spent on this site to give the public the best, plus the abilty to joint venture with known brand, giving the book's viewpoints instant credibility.I have since registered for the price of a pair of shoes and have not been disappointed at the amazing site, which even includes a virtual office. I live in the UK so hope this comes over as an unbiased viewpoint as the opportunity is only available in the USA and Canada. IF any one wants to e-mail about my actual experiences or for advice, please do .....excellent book! excellent opportunity.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very Well Done! Highly Recommend to E-Thinkers !, November 3, 1999

This review is from: The Quixtar Revolution: Discover the New High-Tech, High-Touch World of Marketing (Paperback)
Don't be mislead by people who just "Don't Get" what is going on with E-Commerce. Quixtar is not just about "selling" Amway Products. There are 50 stores on Quixtar right now and that is just the beginning. IBM, Office Max, Hardware.com and many more. More stores will be added on a regular basis. Jay Van Andle and Rich DeVos are billionaire entrepeneurs who own several companies. They own Artistry Cosmetics, Nutrilite Vitamins, Hotels, Fleet of Jets, The Orlando Magics and more. They also own Quixtar.com. Of course since they own Quixtar they wanted to include the products from the other companies they own. That is just a tiny percentage of what is offered on Quixtar. There are 15,000 to 20,000 pages on this site and 50 stores and 200 or so Catalog stores. Everything you need in life is there somewhere or will be soon. It's a great book and a great opportunity. Microsoft Corporation, IBM Corporation, Fry Multimedia, the Tadah Group and others put it together. They are the Big Boys in the industry and I think we should respect their opinion and their expertise. Unlike other E-commerce sites, this one will make money for Quixtar and for those who choose to refer others to it. The compensation plan is fantastic! Anyone who seizes this opportunity and runs with it can become very wealthy. Those that get involved and don't do anything of course won't. It's just like everything else in life. There is no free lunch. YOu actually have to Do SOMTHING, make an effort and be consistent in referring the site to others and it will pay off. I recommend this book to anyone who is interested in getting in on the E-Commerce Wave and wants to ride with it to the top. My husband and I are Quixtar IBO's and found the book to be very informative.

5.0 out of 5 stars RELUCTANCE TO CHANGE AND CONFORMING ATTITUDE, December 19, 1999
This review is from: The Quixtar Revolution: Discover the New High-Tech, High-Touch World of Marketing (Paperback)
First,Mr.Barefoot has done excellent job expressing in his book how people who were willing to go against the pessimistic(lack of vision)individual, and persevere towards their visions;ultimately created the beginning(first computer)of an industry that will not only change the way we do business, but enhance the quality of life. If Thomas Edison had taken the same conforming attitude as the majority, we would not have the light bulb. Now,If Henry Ford would have listen to Thomas Edison and forgotten his vision about building a vehicle and instead had gone to work for him, we would not have the automobile industry that we have now. So, if you want to join the team of pessimistic and conforming individuals, just contact one of the great people (that have given this book a negative review) who have most likely never personally accomplished anything of significance in their lives. After all, how can anyone accomplish anything with such a negative and pessimistic attitude! Now, if you consider a business that voluntarily allows you the opportunity to take advantage of free entreprise with minimal investment, low risk, unlimited income, and most importantly a group of motivated people with a common goal to have more time, security, and freedom with those who you love the most, a cult; than call it what you want, but my family and fellow Americans who are still willing to fight for their freedom mean more to me than the criticism of people that are living a life of no significance, but their own. As for Quixtar having problems on their opening day; please tell me that Ebay and Amazon have never or will never have a problem. So, you choose. Remember, you can never stop a Winner from Winning or a Quitter from Quitting. May God Bless this Wonderful Country of Ours- The United State of America, not the The Individual States of America.

5.0 out of 5 stars To the point, November 3, 1999

This review is from: The Quixtar Revolution: Discover the New High-Tech, High-Touch World of Marketing (Paperback)
It's plain and simple, e-commerce is the way and with a mix a network marketing the DeVos and Van Hendel Family really it the target for success.

With Quixtar they made the leap first in e-commerce with a 40 years experience in network marketing and distribution and business in more then 85 country's.

It's the first time in decade that a new business give the opportunity to the people, the man and woman who want to become Independent Business Owner to do so and owning their own e-commerce business. And the funny part is that it will cost you less than the price of a good pair of shoes.

It works, you just have do the work, it takes an effort to succeed like in any thing, but most of the critics out there don't even have the will and back bone to stand up for their word, family and dreams because their afraid to fail so the don't even try. (It' like that one year gym membership they train for two month and quit, or that class they quit in college, like that martial art course they quit after the first month, you see the picture)

To succeed you have to be persistent, never quit, take the decision to succeed, because SUCCESS IS A DECISION.

Any way after reading this book I understand that this type of business is for the real Man and Woman who's ready to stand for their dreams, what they believe in and not just for working at a Just Over Broke J.O.B. exchanging hours for $ to finally hope that this month they will be able to pay the rent.

Your boss know WHY and you know HOW, that's why is buying a new BMW to is wife while your doing over time. It's time for all of you to take action because now you know WHY. Read this book it will open your mind to new possibility's, there is a way to freedom and this is it. What a Man can do another Man can do.

The only FREEDOM of choice in life exist when you have FINANCIAL FREEDOM.

5.0 out of 5 stars Knowing the difference, and educating yourself, March 31, 2000
By
This review is from: The Quixtar Revolution: Discover the New High-Tech, High-Touch World of Marketing (Paperback)
Let us all remember 1 thing, those former distributors that speak poorly of the Amway experience had problems with their Amway distributor, NOT Amway themselves. Amway is a company that manufactures goods and services and offers a business oppurtunity to anyone. That means a good honest hardworking person could take part in the oppurtunity, or a real dishonest, materialistic, thug. This is your own business and some people run it well, while others don't. Many people have been deceived.

"The Quixtar Revolution" gives great insight on the future of e-commerce and what Quixtar can do for you. There are many important players who were involved and put their respected names in association with Amway. Why? Because they to believe that this is a revolutionary business oppurtunity. This book will give you the knowledge you need to help you make that decision if this business is right for you. Research and Education is the key to running a successful business. I encourage those that are serious to check out other books in association with NetWork Marketing.
